Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran data terkait unsur-unsur intrinsik dalam novel A Land Without Jasmine karya Wajdi Al-Ahdal, untuk membantu mahasiswa memahami kajian unsur intrinsik novel secara jelas dengan menggunakan sumber karya sastra yaitu novel. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analisis dalam novel A Land Without Jasmine. Penelitian ini terfokus pada unsur-unsur intrinsik novel, yaitu alur, tokoh, tema, latar, sudut pandang dan gaya bahasa. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel A Land Without Jasmine, buku-buku artikel penelitian terdahulu, dan sumber lain yang berkaitan dengan penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa unsur-unsur intrinsik di dalam novel A Land Without Jasmine adalah sebagai berikut; Alur yang digunakan adalah alar maju. Tokoh di dalam novel ini terdiri dari 18 tokoh, 7 tokoh utama dan 11 tokoh tambahan. Tema terdiri dari 1 tema mayor yaitu fiksi detektif dan 2 tema minor yaitu ahlak buruk dan unsur supranatural. Latar terdiri dan 10 latar tempat dan 35 latar waktu. Sudut pandang menggunakan sudut pandang persona pertama gaya “aku". Gaya bahasa yang digunakan gaya tasybih. ***** This study aims to obtain an overview of the data related to the intrinsic elements in the novel A Land Without Jasmine by Wajdi Al-Ahdal, to help students understand the study of the novel’s intrinsic elements clearly by using literary sources, especially novels. The method used in this study is a descriptive analysis method in the novel A Land Without Jasmine. This research focuses on the intrinsic elements of novel such as plot, characters, themes, setting, point of view, and style of language. The data source for this research is the novel A Land Without Jasmine, books, articles, previous research, and other sources related to this research. Baesd on the results of the analysis, the researcher concludes that the intrinsic elements in the novel A Land Without Jasmine are as follows; The plot used is the front plot. The characters in this novel consist of 18 characters, 7 main characters and 11 additional characters. The theme consist of 1 major theme, namely detective fiction and 2 minor themes, namely bad morals and supernatural elements. The settings consist of 10 place settings and 35 time settings. The point of view uses the “I” style first person point of view. The style of language used is tashbih style.
