Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku cyberslacking dalam dunia pendidikan yaitu pada siswa. Cyberslacking mencerminkan perilaku siswa yang tidak produktif dalam menggunakan smartphone saat proses belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 18 Jakarta dengan subjek penelitian berasal dari kelas VII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, melalui teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menyimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 18 Jakarta menjadi pelaku cyberslacking yang diketahui dengan melakukan aktivitas browsing yaitu sharing, reel time updating, accessing online content, dan gaming selama proses belajar, baik di sekolah maupun rumah. Siswa lebih sering melakukan cyberslacking ketika belajar sendiri di rumah karena tidak adanya pengawasan dan pendampingan selama penggunaan smartphone di rumah. Adapun faktor yang menyebabkan munculnya cyberslacking pada siswa karena faktor internal yaitu berasal dari individual siswa seperti kontrol diri yang rendah dan mengalami kecanduan smartphone. Sementara faktor eksternal yaitu berkaitan dengan situasional seperti keluarga dan lingkungan belajar. Faktor individual siswa yaitu kontrol diri yang rendah menjadi faktor utama dalam munculnya perilaku cyberslacking. Kata Kunci: Perilaku, Cyberslacking, Siswa *** This research aims to explore cyberslacking behavior in the field of education, specifically among students. Cyberslacking reflects unproductive student behavior in using smartphones during the learning process. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 18 Jakarta, with research subjects originating from the seventh-grade class. The research method employed was descriptive with a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, literature review, and documentation. The results of the conducted research conclude that seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 18 Jakarta engage in cyberslacking activities, as evidenced by activities such as browsing, sharing, real-time updating, accessing online content, and gaming during the learning process, both at school and at home. Students tend to engage in cyberslacking more frequently when studying alone at home due to the lack of supervision and guidance during smartphone usage at home. The factors contributing to the emergence of cyberslacking among students include internal factors, such as individual student characteristics like low self-control and smartphone addiction. Meanwhile, external factors are related to situational aspects such as family and learning environment. The primary factor influencing cyberslacking behavior is the low self-control of individual students. Keywords: Behavior, Cyberslacking, Students
