Abstract
Dukungan sosial keluarga yang diberikan secara terus menerus dapat mendorong remaja untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar, baik dari dual earner family ataupun single earner family. Dual earner family adalah karir yang terjadi apabila suami maupun istri sama-sama bekerja dan mengurus rumah tangga secara bersama pula, sedangkan single earner family adalah hanya kepala keluarga (ayah) saja yang berperan di sektor publik dan ibu berperan di sektor domestik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan sosial keluarga karir ganda dengan motivasi belajar remaja. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 148 Jakarta dengan subjek penelitian remaja usia 13–15 tahun. Teknik pemilihan sampel purposive sampling dengan kriteria latar belakang kedua orang tua bekerja sejumlah 90 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) untuk variabel motivasi belajar dan Family Support Scale untuk variabel dukungan sosial keluarga. Hasil penelitian ini berdasarkan uji korelasi Product Moment mendapatkan hasil 0,000 < 0,005 artinya terdapat hubungan antara variabel dukungan sosial keluarga karir ganda dengan motivasi belajar remaja. Tingkat kekuatan hubungan diperoleh 0,894 artinya variabel dukungan sosial keluarga dengan motivasi belajar remaja berkorelasi kuat dengan arah positif. Dukungan sosial keluarga karir ganda dengan motivasi belajar remaja memiliki korelasi searah artinya bahwa hubungan antar dua variabel menunjukkan arah yang sama. Semakin tinggi dukungan sosial keluarga maka semakin tinggi pula motivasi belajar remaja ataupun sebaliknya. Perlunya sosialisasi bagaimana keluarga karir ganda memberikan dukungan sosial secara penuh kepada anak remajanya untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Peningkatan motivasi belajar diharapkan meningkatkan prestasi anak dalam bidang akademik dan non-akademik. A dual-earner family is a career that occurs when both husband and wife work and take care of the household together, while a single-earner family is only the head of the family (the father), who plays a role in the public sector, and the mother plays a role in the domestic sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between dual-career family social support and adolescent learning motivation. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 148 Jakarta, with research subjects aged 13–15 years. The sample selection technique was purposive sampling with the background criteria of both parents working with a total of 90 students. Researchers used the Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) instrument for learning motivation variables and the Family Support Scale for family social support variables. The results of this study based on the Product Moment Correlation test obtained a result of 0.000 <0.005, meaning that there is a relationship between the dual career family social support variable and adolescent learning motivation. The level of relationship strength obtained is 0.894, meaning that the variable of family social support with adolescent learning motivation is strongly correlated with a positive direction. Dual career family social support and adolescent learning motivation have a unidirectional correlation which means that the relationship between the two variables shows the same direction. The higher the family social support, the higher the adolescent learning motivation, or vice versa. The need for socialization of how dual-career families provide full social support to their teenagers to increase learning motivation. Increased learning motivation is expected to improve children's achievement in academic and non-academic fields.
