Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar digital Academic Writing (AW) berbasis Process-Genre Approach melalui Learning Management System (LMS). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengadopsi dari konsep desain Integrative Learning Design Framework (ILDF). Penelitian pengembangan ini dilaksanakan di Universitas Indraprasta PGRI Jakarta Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris yang dimulai dari tahun 2020. Penelitian dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu tahapan eksplorasi, tahapan penyusunan, dan tahapan evaluasi. Partisipan dari penelitian ini berjumlah 264 partisipan (109 pada analisis kebutuhan dan 155 pada uji efektivitas produk), 2 dosen pengampu AW, dan 7 pakar. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui beberapa instrumen yaitu kuesioner, wawancara, dan uji formatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahan ajar digital Academic Writing (AW) berbasis Process-Genre Approach melalui Learning Management System (LMS) dari validasi pakar, persepsi dosen, dan mahasiswa menyatakan sangat layak untuk dipergunakan serta dari hasil uji efektivitas mengindikasikan efektif dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan AW. Implikasi dari penelitian ini bagi institusional dapat menjadi bagian kebijakan dalam pengembangan LMS, bagi dosen dapat mengembangkan lebih beragam materi bahan ajar digital yang dapat dieksplorasi di dalam LMS, dan untuk peneliti lainnya dapat menginvestigasi lebih lanjut terkait pengembangan bahan ajar digital melalui LMS. The purpose of this research is to develop digital Academic Writing (AW) instructional material based on the Process-Genre Approach through a Learning Management System (LMS). The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D), adopting the concept of the Integrative Learning Design Framework (ILDF). This development research was carried out at Universitas Indraprasta PGRI Jakarta, in the English Education Study Program, starting in the year 2020. The research was conducted through three stages: exploration, preparation, and evaluation. The participants in this research were 264 students (109 for needs analysis and 155 for the effectiveness test of the product), 2 AW lecturers, and 7 experts. Data collection was performed through various instruments such as questionnaires, interviews, and formative tests. The results of this research revealed that the digital Academic Writing (AW) instructional material based on the Process-Genre Approach through the Learning Management System (LMS), as validated by experts, perceived by lecturers, and responded to by students, is highly suitable for use. The effectiveness test result indicated that it is effective in assisting in improving AW skills. The implications of this research for institutions could be integrated into policies for LMS development, for lecturers to diversify digital instructional materials within the LMS, and for other researchers to further investigate the development of digital instructional materials through LMS.
