Abstract
Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bagaimana Motivasi Sarjana Prodi Pendidikan Sejarah dalam Melanjutkan Studi ke Pascasarjana bisa muncul dan cara-cara mengatasi hambatan-hambatan saat mereka ingin melanjutkan studi ke pascasarjana. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah FIS UNJ dan Program Pascasarjana Pendidikan Sejarah UNJ. Penelitian berlangsung dari bulan Maret 2019 hingga Januari 2020. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi atau pengamatan, wawancara, dan dokumen. Sumber data yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari informan kunci dan informan inti. Informan kunci dalam penelitian ini adalah Alumni Prodi Pendidikan Sejarah Angkatan 2010 dan Admin Prodi Pendidikan Sejarah, sedangkan informan intinya yaitu beberapa Alumni Prodi Pendidikan Sejarah angkatan 2009, 2010, dan 2011. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kebutuhan seseorang akan mempengaruhi motivasi dalam dirinya dan motivasi tersebut akan sangat mempengaruhi tindakannya, diperlukan motivasi yang besar dalam mengatasi masalah atau hambatan seseorang dalam melanjutkan studi. Motivasi dan hambatan merupakan dua hal yang berbanding searah, dalam mencapai sebuah tujuan seseorang memerlukan motivasi besar untuk mengatasi sebuah hambatan yang besar begitu pula sebaliknya. Pada dasarnya untuk mengatasi sebuah hambatan maka diperlukan motivasi yang lebih besar dari hambatan tersebut agar dapat tercapai sebuah tujuan. Beberapa hambatan yang hampir dapat dirasakan para sarjana pendidikan sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang ingin melanjutkan pendidikan ke pasca sarjana yaitu masalah biaya yang tidak sedikit Selain masalah biaya yang dapat digolongkan sebagai masalah umum, ada beberapa masalah atau hambatan yang dialami para sarjana pendidikan sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang ingin atau telah melanjutkan studi ke pasca sarjana pendididikan sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang bersifat hambatan khusus. Berdasarkan data hambatan yang diperoleh dan data perbandingan jumlah lulusan tersebut dapat ditarik kesimpulan awal, bahwa melanjutkan studi dari program studi Pendidikan Sejarah Uiversitas Negeri Jakarta ke jenjang Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Pasca Sarjana Universitas Negeri Jakarta merupakan hal yang tidak mudah. Selain karier yang baik setelah lulus dari Prodi Pendidikan Sejarah Program Pascasarjana UNJ peningkatan kompetensi dari segi keilmuan dirasakan semua sarjana pendidikan sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang sedang dan sudah menempuh studi di jenjang Pasca Sarjana Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Relasi atau hubungan pertemanan merupakan dampak diluar kompetensi keilmuan yang banyak dirasakan oleh para sarjana pendidikan sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta, baik yang telah menyelesaikan studi di jenjang Pasca Sarjana Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Negeri Jakarta maupun yang sedang menempuh pendidikan. Peningkatan status sosial dalam masyarakat langsung terasa ketika seseorang menempuh jenjang pendidikan yang tinggi. This study describes how the Motivation of Undergraduate Historical Education Study Program in Continuing Postgraduate Studies can emerge and ways to overcome obstacles when they want to continue their studies to postgraduate. This research was conducted at the Historical Education Study Program of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University and the Postgraduate Program in Historical Education, Jakarta State University. The research took place from March 2019 to January 2020. The research method used was qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation or observation, interviews, and documents. Sources of data used in this study consisted of key informants and core informants. Key informants in this study were the 2010 History Education Study Program Alumni and the Historical Education Study Program Admin, while the core informants were the 2009 Historical Education Study Program Alumni, 2009, and 2011. The results showed that a person's needs will affect motivation in him and that motivation will greatly affect his actions, a great motivation is needed in overcoming a person's problems or obstacles in continuing his studies. Motivation and obstacles are two things that are proportional in the same direction, in achieving a goal someone needs great motivation to overcome a large obstacle and vice versa. Basically, to overcome an obstacle, greater motivation is needed from the obstacle in order to achieve a goal. Some obstacles that can almost be felt by the graduates of the history of Jakarta State University who want to continue their education to post-graduate are the problem of costs that are not small In addition to the problem of costs that can be classified as general problems, there are some problems or obstacles experienced by the graduates of the history of Jakarta State University who want to or have continued their studies to post graduate education in the history of Jakarta State University which is a special obstacle. Based on the obstacle data obtained and the comparative data on the number of graduates, the initial conclusion can be drawn, that continuing study from the History of Jakarta State University Study Program to the level of Postgraduate History Education Study Program of the Jakarta State University is not easy. In addition to a good career after graduating from the Historical Education Study Program at the Jakarta State University Postgraduate Program, competency improvement in terms of science was felt by all history education graduates from Jakarta State University who are currently and have studied at the Postgraduate Program in Historical Education at the State University of Jakarta. Relationships or friendships are impacts outside of scientific competence that are felt by many graduates of the history of Jakarta State University, both those who have completed their studies at the Postgraduate Level of History Education in Jakarta State University and who are currently studying. Improvement of social status in the community is immediately felt when someone takes a higher education level.
