Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks nonfiksi melalui penerapan metode SQ4R (Survey, Question, Reflect, Recite, dan Review) pada peserta didik kelas V-B SDN Jatinegara Kaum 03 yang berjumlah 32 peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan model siklus penelitian dari kemmis dan MC. Taggart. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Pada siklus I, peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai ≥80 sebanyak 18 peserta didik dengan persentase 56,2%. Pada siklus II peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai ≥80 sebanyak 25 orang dengan persentase 78,1%. Sedangkan pada siklus III peserta didik yang mencapai nilai ≥80 sebanyak 29 orang dengan persentase 90,6%. Adapun persentase hasil pemantau tindakan aktivitas guru pada siklus I sebesar 84% dan hasil pemantau tindakan peserta didik sebesar 77%. Pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan hasil pemantau tindakan aktivitas guru pada siklus II sebesar 90% dan hasil pemantau tindakan peserta didik sebesar 84%. Dan pada siklus III mencapai target peneliti yaitu sebesar 100% hasil pemantauan tindakan guru dan hasil pemantau tindakan peserta didik sebesar 97%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode SQ4R dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks nonfiksi. ***** This classroom hands-on study is about reading and understanding non-fiction texts by using SQ4R (Survey, Question, Reflect, Recite, Review) method among fifth grade students of Jatinegara Kaum 03 Elementary School. The aim was to improve their abilities and a total of 32 students improved. This study was conducted during the odd semesters of the 2023/2024 academic year. This classroom's action research was conducted using Kemmis and MC Taggart’s cycle model. This study was conducted in these four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. On Cycle I, there are 18 students achieved a score of 80 or higher, representing a percentage of 56.2%. On Cycle II, there were 25 students achieved a score of 80 or above, corresponding to a rate of 78.1%. On Cycle III, there were 29 students who achieved a score of 80 or above, which are corresponds to that rate of 90.6%. On the first cycle, the percentage of results for monitoring teacher's activities was 84%, and the percentage of results for monitoring student's behavior was 77%. On the second cycle, results from monitoring teacher behavior increased by 90% and results from monitoring student behavior increased by 84%. And finally on third cycle, the researcher's goals were achieved: 100% of the teacher behavior monitoring results and 97% of the student's behavior monitoring results. These results indicate that using the SQ4R method can improve the ability to read and understand nonfiction texts.
