Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan membaca pemahaman pada peserta didik kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri yang ada di Gugus III Kecamatan Tanah Abang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling berdasarkan tujuan penelitian. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 37 peserta didik kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri yang memiliki kesulitan dalam membaca pemahaman. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Data dalam penelitian ini di analisis dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata pada tes yang telah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca pemahaman, diantaranya kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi informasi faktual, menentukan gagasan suatu teks, mengidentifikasi makna tersembunyi, mengidentifikasi sebab-akibat pada teks, membuat kesimpulan, mengidentifikasi tujuan penulis, menyampaikan pendapat terhadap suatu teks, dan kesulitan dalam menentukan arti sinonim, antonim, kata kiasan, serta peribahasa. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta didik kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri Gugus III Kecamatan Tanah Abang mengalami kesulitan dalam keterampilan membaca pemahaman. ***** This research aims to describe the difficulty of reading comprehension in class IV students at State Elementary Schools in Cluster III, Tanah Abang District. This research uses quantitative descriptive research methods. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling method based on the research objectives. The subjects in this research were 37 students in class IV of State Elementary Schools who had difficulties in reading comprehension. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, tests and documentation. The data in this study was analyzed by calculating the average score on the tests that were carried out. The results of this research show that students experience difficulties in reading comprehension, including difficulties in identifying factual information, determining the idea of a text, identifying hidden meanings, identifying cause and effect in texts, making conclusions, identifying the author's purpose, expressing opinions about a text, and difficulties in determining the meaning of synonyms, antonyms, figurative words, and proverbs. So, it can be concluded that class IV students at Gugus III State Elementary School, Tanah Abang District experience difficulties in reading comprehension skills.
