Abstract
This study aims to conduct research and product development for imagery-based freestyle swimming training models in the 12-13 year age group. The method adopted is Research and Development using the Borg and Gall model. The research subjects used were all KU III Medan Tirta Prima Club freestyle swimming athletes. The instruments in this study used an assessment rubric and a 50 meter freestyle swimming test. Data analysis used IBM SPSS v.25.0. The first findings in this study showed that at the small scale stage three experts stated that the product created, namely an imagery-based freestyle swimming training model for the 12-13 year age group, was declared feasible but there were few suggestions or revisions. The second finding in this research shows that at the large-scale testing stage, three experts stated that this model was suitable for use to test effectiveness in swimming athletes. The third finding in this study shows that there is significant effectiveness of using the imagery freestyle swimming training model in improving basic freestyle swimming techniques in athletes aged 12-13 years (p<0.05). Thus, this research confirms that the product in the form of an imagery freestyle swimming training model was declared successful or suitable for use in swimming sports and this model was proven to have good effectiveness in improving the freestyle swimming ability of athletes aged 12-13 years.
