Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman Teks Narasi pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa kelas IV di SD Negeri Menteng Atas 14 Jakarta Selatan dengan menggunakan model Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA). Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan didapatkan bahwa kemampuan membaca pemahaman Teks Narasi siswa kelas IV-A tergolong rendah. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara guru kelas IV-A bahwa rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman ditandai dengan pada saat guru memberikan bahan bacaan dan memberikan pertanyaan kepada siswamengenai isi bacaan, siswa harus membuka kembali bahan bacaan yang telah dibacanya lalu siswa dapat menjawab pertanyaan dari guru. Lalu berdasarkan hasil pre-test yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan hasil bahwa dari 24 orang siswa, hanya terdapat 10 orang yang mendapatkan nilai ≥ 75 dengan rata-rata nilai seluruh siswa yaitu 63.5. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis &Mc.Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini melalui tes, wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pada siklus I diperoleh rata-rata hasil tes evaluasi kemampuan membaca sebesar 72.5 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 62.5% dan siklus II diperoleh skor sebesar 82.5 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 87.5%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model DRTA dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV di SDN Menteng Atas 14. ***** This study aims to improve the ability to read comprehension of narrative text in Indonesian language learning for grade IV students at SD Negeri Menteng Atas 14 South Jakarta by using the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) model. Based on the preliminary study, it was found that the ability to read comprehension of narrative text of class IV-A students was low. Based on the results of the interview with the teacher of class IV-A, the low ability of students in reading comprehension is characterized by the fact that when the teacher provides reading material and asks questions to students about the content of the reading, students must reopen the reading material they have read, and then students can answer questions from the teacher. Then, based on the results of the pre-test that has been done, the results show that out of 24 students, there are only 10 people who get a score ≥ 75, with the average score of all students being 63.5. This research is class action research (PTK) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model. Data collection techniques in this study include tests, interviews, and observations. The results showed that in cycle I, the average score of the reading skill evaluation test was 72.5 with a percentage of completeness of 62.5%, and cycle II obtained a score of 82.5 with a percentage of completeness of 87.5%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of the DRTA model can improve the reading comprehension skills of grade IV students at SDN Menteng Atas 14.
