Abstract
***** Trade and climate change are closely related and require stronger cooperation by encouraging a transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy. This research aims to examine the influence of a low-carbon economy on exports from ASEAN 5 countries to the European Union. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research using secondary data analysis originating from publications released by Our World in Data, Trading Economics and Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research (EDGAR). The sample in this research is ASEAN 5 countries to the European Union from 2012-2021. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and panel data regression model analysis with a gravity model. The results of regression analysis using a fixed effect model show that the emission intensity of the first scope has a significant negative effect on exports from ASEAN 5 countries to the European Union. Then, the emission intensity of the second scope has a positive effect on exports from ASEAN 5 countries to the European Union. The emission intensity of the third scope has a negative effect on the exports of ASEAN 5 countries to the European Union. Meanwhile, economic distance has a positive effect on exports from ASEAN 5 countries to the European Union. Simultaneously all independent variables influence the dependent variable in this research. Keywords: Exports, Low Carbon Economy, Carbon Emission Intensity, Economic Distance.
