Abstract

Penelitian in bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan yang terjadi antara dukungan sosial (social support) dan keterhubungan dengan sekolah (school connectedness) pada siswa kelas XI di SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta. Penelitian in menggunakan metode korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu 157 siswa kelas XI usia 16-17 tahun dengan teknik non-probabilitas convenience sampling. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah instrumen The Social Provisions Scale (SPA) yang dikembangkan oleh Cutrona & Russell (1987) dan Psychological Sense of School Membership (PSSM) yang dikembangkan oleh Goodenow (1993). Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang terjadi antara dukungan sosial (social support) dan keterhubungan dengan sekolah (school connectedness) pada siswa kelas XI di SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar (r) sebesar 0.523 dengan nilai Sig. sebesar 0.000 (<0.05). Pada instrument SPA didapati aspek tertinggi adalah social integration (integrasi sosial) dengan skor sebesar 21.08 dan terendah adalah aspek reassurance of worth (kepastian bahwa dirinya bernilai) dengan skor total sebesar 12.85. Pada instrument PSSM aspek tertingginya adalah aspek students’ sense of acceptance from peers and teachers (rasa penerimaan siswa dari rekan dan guru mereka) dengan skor 17.59 dan terendah adalah aspek students’ sense of attachment to school (rasa keterikatan siswa dengan sekolah) dengan skor 11.44. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya diaharapkan dapat melakukan intervensi dengan subjek berbeda dan lebih luas sehingga dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih luas mengenai faktor yang berkontribusi pada tingkat dari kedua variabel. ***** The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship that occurs between social support and school connectedness among 11th-grade students at State Vocational High School 48 Jakarta. This study used correlation method with quantitative approach. The research subjects were 157 students of 11th-grade students at State Vocational High School 48 Jakarta aged 16-17 years with non-probability convenience sampling technique. The data were collected with the Social Provisions Scale (SPA) which developed by Cutrona & Russell (1987) and the Psychological Sense of School Membership (PSSM) developed by Goodenow (1993). The results indicated that with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.523 with a Sig. value of 0.000 (<0.05), there was a positive relationship between social support and school connectedness among 11th-grade students at State Vocational High School 48 Jakarta. In the PSSM instrument, the highest aspect is the student's sense of acceptance by peers and teachers with a score of 17.59 and the lowest aspect is the student's sense of attachment to school with a score of 11.44. To gain a broader understanding of the factors that contribute to the levels of both variables, future researchers are expected to conduct interventions with different and broader themes.
