Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengetahui bagaimana proses peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis melalui model discovery learning pada materi statistika siswa kelas VI SDN Kramat Jati 03 Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI SDN Kramat Jati 03 sebanyak 25 siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi tindakan guru dan siswa melalui lembar observasi, tes kemampuan representasi matematis melalui lembar tes, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada persentase hasil tes kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada materi statistika beriringan dengan peningkatan pada persentase aktivitas tindakan guru dan siswa dalam menerapkan model discovery learning selama pelaksanaan tindakan berlangsung. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada materi statistika dan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dapat meningkat secara signifikan melalui model discovery learning pada materi statistika. ******* This study aims to improve and find out the process of improving mathematical representation skills through the discovery learning model on statistics material for class VI students at SDN Kramat Jati 03. The sample in this research was 25 students from class VI at SDN Kramat Jati 03. The method used is classroom action research (PTK) with the Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart. Data collection was carried out using observations of teacher and student actions through observation sheets, mathematical representation ability tests through test sheets, field notes, and documentation. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in the percentage of students' mathematical representation ability test results in statistics material along with an increase in the percentage of teacher and student action activities in implementing the discovery learning model during the implementation of the action. These results indicate that the application of the discovery learning model can improve students' mathematical representation abilities in statistics material and students' mathematical representation abilities can increase significantly through the discovery learning model in statistics material.
