Abstract

******ABSTRAK****** Dimensi kebinekaan global dari Kurikulum Merdeka bermaksud untuk membantu siswa untuk berpikiran terbuka terhadap budaya lain, hal ini dapat dicapai dengan mengekspos siswa pada budaya global dalam buku teks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bagaimana budaya global digambarkan dalam sebuah buku pelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk mendukung visi keragaman global dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Data penelitian ini berasal dari buku pelajaran bahasa Inggris berjudul "English for Nusantara" untuk kelas 9. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menggunakan acuan keberagaman global dari Kemdikbudristek (2022). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 butir soal yang mengindikasikan budaya global dalam bentuk teks dan gambar pada bab 1 sampai bab 5. Butir-butir tersebut mewakili 4 sub-elemen dari visi keberagaman global dalam Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5), yaitu: mengenal dan menghargai budaya; komunikasi dan interaksi antarbudaya; refleksi dan tanggung jawab terhadap pengalaman kebinekaan; dan berkeadilan sosial. ****ABSTRACT***** Global diversity vision of Kurikulum Merdeka intends to help students to be open minded to other culture, it can be achieved by exposing the students to global culture in the textbook. The study aims at investigating how global culture is portrayed in an English textbook to support global diversity vision in Kurikulum Merdeka. The data is from an English textbook entitled “English for Nusantara” for 9th grade. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study applies the reference of global diversity by Kemdikbudristek (2022). The findings show that there are 4 items which indicates global culture in a form of text and image in chapter 1 until chapter 5. Those items represent 4 sub-elements of global diversity vision in Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5): recognizing and appreciating culture; intercultural communication and interaction; reflection and responsibility for the experience of diversity; and social justice.
