******ABSTRAK******* ABSTRAK Akhmad Alwi Hutama. 2024. Keterlibatan Orang Tua SMA Al-Ghuroba dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Anak. Skripsi, Jakarta: Jurusan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Keterlibatan orang tua mempunyai dampak besar terhadap perkembangan pendidikan bahasa Inggris siswa karena dapat meningkatkan keinginan dan motivasi belajar anak. Keterlibatan orang tua juga dikaitkan dengan prestasi siswa dan rendahnya masalah perilaku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana orang tua membantu anaknya belajar bahasa Inggris di rumah dan sekolah di SMA Al-Ghuroba. Sekolah ini merupakan salah satu sekolah swasta di Jakarta yang tidak memiliki komite orang tua, dan siswanya memiliki nilai dan prestasi bahasa Inggris yang rendah. Partisipan penelitian meliputi 32 orang tua yang mengisi kuesioner dan 5 orang tua yang menjadi peserta wawancara. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa orang tua mempunyai pemikiran positif terhadap keterlibatan orang tua dan mereka menyadari bahwa dukungan mereka akan menjadi faktor yang sangat besar bagi anak mereka dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Mereka juga mengaku membantu anaknya dengan membantu pekerjaan rumah anaknya. Beberapa dari mereka juga memasukkan anaknya ke kursus bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan prestasi siswanya. Namun orang tua jarang berkomunikasi dengan guru bahasa Inggrisnya dan sebagian orang tua tidak pernah bertemu dengan guru bahasa Inggris di SMA Al Ghuroba. Mereka menyadari bahwa sekolah harus memiliki komite orang tua untuk lebih banyak menyalurkan aspirasi orang tua terhadap pembelajaran anaknya Kata Kunci: Keterlibatan Orang Tua, Keterlibatan Berbasis Rumah, Keterlibatan Berbasis Sekolah, Siswa Berprestasi Rendah *********ABSTRACT**** Parents’ involvement has a substantial impact on students' English educational development because it could increase the child's desire and motivation to study. The parents' involvement is also associated with students' achievement and lower behavioral problems. This study aims to find out how the parents help their children learn English at home and school in Al-Ghuroba Senior High School. This school is one of the private schools in Jakarta that did not have a parents’ committee, and the students had low scores and achievement of English. The participants of the research include the 32 parents who filled out the questionnaire and the 5 parents who became the interview participants. The result showed that the parents had positive thoughts about parents’ involvement and they realized that their support would be a huge factor to their child in learning English. They also claimed that they help their child by helping with their child’s homework. Some of them also put their child into English courses to boost their students’ performance. However, the parents rarely communicate with their English teacher and some parents never met the English teacher at Al Ghuroba Senior High School. They realized that schools should have a parents committee to get more parents’ aspirations for their children's learning
