Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar membaca teks sastra anak berbasis multikultural dengan menerapkan pendekatan tematik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan berdasarkan pada aspek konten materi, sastra anak, serta media dan grafis. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model Borg and Gall. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dan statistik deskriptif, menggabungkan data statistik dengan uraian deskripsi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada peserta didik kelas tinggi di SDN Polisi 1. Sumber data penelitian ini para pakar, para guru, dan para peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner, wawancara, dan observasi diperoleh data adanya kesulitan untuk memperoleh bahan ajar membaca teks bergenre sastra anak dengan tema-tema multikultural. Hanya terdapat 3% bahan ajar bergenre sastra dari 2779 koleksi di perpustakaan sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil validasi terhadap aspek materi diperoleh skor rata-rata 4,5 atau 91% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dari aspek sastra anak diperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 5,0 atau 100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dari aspek media dan grafis diperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 4,5 atau 91% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji coba kelompok kecil, respons para guru terhadap pengembangan bahan ajar ini pada kelas IV sebesar 4,2 atau 85% dengan kategori sangat baik; pada kelas V sebesar 4,3 atau 85% dengan kategori sangat baik; dan pada kelas VI sebesar 4,2 atau 84% dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji efektivitas membaca pemahaman terhadap teks sastra anak berbasis multikultural yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U menyimpulkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata N-gain pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney U pada kelas IV sebesar 0,0275; pada kelas V sebesar 0,000; dan pada kelas VI sebesar 0.003. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis multikultural dengan menerapkan pendekatan tematik ini layak dan efektif digunakan bagi peserta didik kelas tinggi di SDN Polisi 1 Kota Bogor. ***** This study aims to develop teaching materials for reading children's literature based on multiculturalism by applying a thematic approach. The research was conducted based on aspects of material content, children's literature, and the media. The research used the Research and Development method with the Borg and Gall model. Research data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques and descriptive statistics, combining statistical data with descriptions. This research was conducted on high school students at SDN Polisi 1 Bogor City. The data sources for this research were experts, teachers, and students. Based on the results of questionnaires, interviews, and observations, it was obtained data that there were difficulties in obtaining teaching materials for reading children's literature genre texts with multicultural themes. There are only 3% of teaching materials in the literary genre from 2779 collections in the school library. Based on the results of the validation of the material aspects, an average score of 4.5 or 91% is obtained in the very good category. From the aspect of children's literature, an average score of 5.0 or 100% is obtained in the very good category. From the aspect of media and graphics, an average score of 4.5 or 91% is obtained in the very good category. The results of small group trials, the response of teachers to the development of this teaching material in class IV was 4.2 or 85% in the very good category; in class V of 4.3 or 85% with very good category; and in class VI of 4.2 or 84% with very good category. The results of the multicultural-based reading comprehension effectiveness test using the MannWhitney U test concluded that there was a difference in the average N-gain in the experimental and control classes. The results of the Mann-Whitney U test in class IV were 0.0275; in class V of 0.000; and in class VI of 0.003. Thus it can be concluded that the development of multicultural-based teaching materials by applying a thematic approach is feasible and effective for high class at SDN Polisi 1 Bogor City.
