Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa melalui penggunaan metode simulasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yakni: Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan, Pengamatan atau Observasi serta Refleksi. Pada tiap siklusnya, penelitian ini difokuskan untuk memperoleh data tentang penggunaan metode simulasi dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas XI MIPA 3 yang terdiri dari 36 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi belajar siswa yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode simulasi kepada siswa kelas XI MIPA 3 serta pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dan guru kolaborator yang dilakukan untuk mencatat perilaku, keaktifan, dan respons siswa selama pembelajaran, guna mendapatkan gambaran yang lebih komprehensif tentang perubahan motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan metode simulasi dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat melalui hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dan guru kolaborator yang menyatakan bahwa pada tingkat indikator motivasi yang awalnya sebesar 49,475 % atau berada pada kategori sedang meningkat ke 67,075 % atau berada pada kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode simulasi efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah siswa kelas XI MIPA 3 di SMA Negeri 13 Depok. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of four stages, namely: Planning, Implementation, Observe or Observation and Reflection. In each cycle, this research focused on obtaining data on the use of simulation methods in increasing students' motivation to learn history. This research was conducted in class XI MIPA 3 consisting of 36 students. The data collection technique used was a student learning motivation questionnaire given before and after the application of the simulation method to students in class XI MIPA 3 as well as observations made by researchers and collaborating teachers conducted to record student behavior, activeness, and responses during learning, in order to get a more comprehensive picture of changes in student learning motivation. The results of this study indicate that the application of the simulation method can increase students' motivation to learn history. This can be seen through the results of observations made by researchers and collaborator teachers who stated that the level of motivation indicators which initially amounted to 49.475% or was in the medium category increased to 67.075% or was in the high category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the simulation method is effective in increasing the motivation to learn history of students in class XI MIPA 3 at SMA Negeri 13 Depok.
