Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP) dalam pemberdayaan pemuda untuk membangun dialog antar antar umat beragama di Indonesia dengan fokus pada peran yang dimainkan oleh ICRP. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tingginya tingkat intoleransi yang muncul dari perbedaan suku, etnis, bahasa, politik, dan agama, yang berpotensi mengganggu harmoni sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 6 informan kunci dan 2 orang tringulasi informan, yaitu director eksekutif ICRP, deputy director studi agama dan perdamaian, program manajer dan publik relasi, manajer media dan komunukasi, staff magang social imerson, dan staff magang internasional ICRP serta 2 akademisi dosen UIN Yogyakarta dan aktivis perdamaian sebagai informan pendukung. Lokasi Penelitian ini dilakukan di kantor ICRP dan penelitian melakukan wawancara dari bulan Juli 2023 hingga bulan februari 2024.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ICRP memainkan peran penting dalam mempromosikan dialog antar umat beragama, pendidikan keagamaan dan budaya, serta kerjasama antar komunitas agama untuk memperkuat toleransi dan kerjasama. Program-program ICRP, seperti dialog kerjasama dan sharing session (diskusi beretika), telah membantu pemuda memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang keyakinan dan praktik keagamaan yang berbeda, serta membangun keterampilan komunikasi, kerjasama, dan kepemimpinan yang diperlukan dalam mempromosikan perdamaian dan harmoni di tengah perbedaan. Dialog antaragama dianggap sebagai sarana penting untuk mencapai pemahaman timbal balik dan membangun harmoni sosial. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana dialog antaragama dan pendidikan kebudayaan dapat menjadi alat efektif dalam membangun integrasi sosial dan mengurangi kasus intoleransi di Indonesia. Upaya ICRP dalam memberdayakan pemuda untuk terlibat dalam dialog antaragama dapat dilihat sebagai mekanisme untuk memperkuat integrasi sosial dan mencegah disfungsi sosial seperti intoleransi dan diskriminasi. This research aims to analyze the efforts of the Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP) in empowering youth to build inter-religious dialogue in Indonesia with a focus on the role played by ICRP. The background of this research is the high level of intolerance arising from differences in ethnicity, language, politics, and religion, which has the potential to disrupt social harmony. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were 6 key informants and 2 tringulation informants, namely ICRP executive director, deputy director of religion and peace studies, program manager and public relations, media and communication manager, social imerson intern, and ICRP international intern as well as 2 academic lecturers of UIN Yogyakarta and peace activists as supporting informants. The location of this research was conducted at the ICRP office and the research conducted interviews from July 2023 to February 2024. The results show that ICRP plays an important role in promoting interfaith dialog, religious and cultural education, and cooperation among religious communities to strengthen tolerance and cooperation. ICRP programs, such as cooperative dialogues and sharing sessions (ethical discussions), have helped youth gain a deeper understanding of different religious beliefs and practices, as well as build communication, cooperation, and leadership skills necessary in promoting peace and harmony amid differences. Interfaith dialog is considered an important means of achieving mutual understanding and building social harmony. This research provides insights into how interfaith dialog and cultural education can be effective tools in building social integration and reducing cases of intolerance in Indonesia. ICRP's efforts in empowering youth to engage in interfaith dialog can be seen as a mechanism to strengthen social integration and prevent social dysfunctions such as intolerance and discrimination.
