Abstract

Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The results showed that the development of a community-based Pari Island marine tourism travel pattern can be done through several stages, namely: 1) Identification of the potential and the attractions of marine tourism, 2) Empowerment of local communities in destination management, 3) Development of tour packages that involve the community, 4) Increasing the capacity of human resources, and 5) Development of infrastructure and supporting facilities by actively involving local communities, is expected to improve community welfare and encourage the sustainability of marine tourism management on Pari Island.
