Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan karakter cinta lingkungan melalui program 3R pada siswa SMPN 45 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, kuesioner, dan kepustakaan. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 72 responden dari 288 populasi siswa kelas VII SMPN 45 Jakarta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter cinta lingkungan siswa SMPN 45 Jakarta dapat dikembangkan melalui pengimplementasian program reduce, reuse dan recycle (3R) di sekolah telah mencapai tahap pengembangan karakter melalui ranah perilaku moral yang ditunjukkan pada indikator reduce khususnya dalam hal pengurangan penggunaan plastik dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 81% yang termasuk dalam kategori “Tinggi”. Faktor pendorong pada program pengembangan karakter cinta lingkungan tercermin pada sikap siswa untuk selalu menjalankan instruksi/ kebijakan yang diberlakukan oleh sekolah dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 88% yang termasuk dalam kategori “Tinggi”, adapun faktor penghambat terlihat pada masih adanya kekurangpahaman siswa terhadap pengelolaan sampah dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 26% yang tergolong kategori “Rendah”. Kata Kunci: Karakter, Cinta Lingkungan, Program 3R ***** This study aims to describe the development of the character of environmental love through the 3R program in SMPN 45 Jakarta students. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and literature. The sampling technique was carried out using simple random sampling technique, with a sample size of 72 respondents from 288 population of seventh grade students of SMPN 45 Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that the character of environmental love of SMPN 45 Jakarta students can be developed through the implementation of the reduce, reuse and recycle (3R) program at school has reached the character development stage through the realm of moral behavior shown in the reduce indicator, especially in terms of reducing the use of plastic with a percentage of 81% which is included in the “High” category. The driving factor in the character development program of environmental love is reflected in the attitude of students to always carry out instructions/policies enforced by the school with a percentage of 88% which is included in the “High” category, while the inhibiting factor is seen in the lack of understanding of students towards waste management with a percentage of 26% which is classified as “Low” category.
