Abstract

Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dilema masyarakat pedesaan, khususnya keluarga di Desa Cibodas Rumpin Bogor, dalam mengakses pendidikan menengah baik SMP maupun SMA. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana mereka berjuang untuk mengakses pendidikan menengah tetapi sulit atau bahkan tidak mungkin mereka capai. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 6 informan kunci, yaitu Kepala Bidang Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Desa dan orang tua dari 5 keluarga di Desa Cibodas Rumpin Bogor, serta 4 Orang guru di desa tersebut sebagai informan triangulasi data. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Cibodas, Kecamatan Rumpin, Kabupaten Bogor, Provinsi Jawa Barat dan penelitian ini dimulai pada bulan Januari 2020 sampai dengan bulan November 2023. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa terdapat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberlanjutan pendidikan anak di Desa Cibodas, antara lain faktor rumah tangga yaitu latar belakang orang tua, pengaruh masyarakat yaitu lingkungan sosial, dan masalah pendidikan yang ada di sekolah pedesaan. Orang tua di 5 keluarga mempertimbangkan berbagai hal seperti pertimbangan nilai, pertimbangan materi, dan pertimbangan komunikasi. Namun, faktor ekonomi orang tua menjadi faktor terbesar dalam pengambilan keputusan untuk melanjutkan pendidikan anak. Selanjutnya, melalui diri anak anak di 5 keluarga di Desa Cibodas, mereka melihat kondisi orang tua yang mengalami keterbatasan, minimnya dukungan dan motivasi membuat mereka mengurungkan niatnya untuk mengakses pendidikan lebih tinggi. Terakhir, dalam masyarakat banyak faktor, baik kondisi ekonomi, lingkungan sosial, maupun pengaruh lembaga sosial, yang berperan penting dalam pembentukan pranata sosial yang mempengaruhi keputusan orang tua maupun anak anak untuk memilih bekerja daripada mengakses pendidikan menengah. Hal hal tersebut menjadikan suatu dilema pendidikan menengah di 5 keluarga di Desa Cibodas Rumpin Bogor. ***** In general, this research aims to describe the dilemma of rural communities, especially families in Cibodas Rumpin Village, Bogor, in accessing secondary education, both junior high and high school. This research explains how they struggle to access secondary education but find it difficult or even impossible to achieve. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Research data was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research were 6 key informants, namely the Head of the Village Community Welfare Division and parents from 5 families in Cibodas Rumpin Village, Bogor, as well as 4 teachers in the village as data triangulation informants. The location of this research was carried out in Cibodas Village, Rumpin District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province and this research began in January 2020 to November 2023. The results of this research explain that there are factors that influence the sustainability of children's education in Cibodas Village, including household factors, namely parental background, community influence, namely the social environment, and educational problems that exist in rural schools. Parents in 5 families consider various things such as value considerations, material considerations, and communication considerations. However, parents' economic factors are the biggest factor in making the decision to continue their child's education. Furthermore, through the children in 5 families in Cibodas Village, they saw the condition of their parents who experienced limitations, lack of support and motivation, which made them give up their intention to access higher education. Finally, in society there are many factors, including economic conditions, the social environment, and the influence of social institutions, which play an important role in the formation of social institutions that influence the decisions of parents and children to choose to work rather than access secondary education. This creates a secondary education dilemma in 5 families in Cibodas Rumpin Village, Bogor.
