Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) dengan kriteria Watson ditinjau dari Adversity Quotient (AQ), Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 213 Jakarta dengan subjek penelitian yang dipilih sebanyak 10 siswa yang memiliki kesalahan terbanyak dari masing-masing kategori dan bersedia diwawancarai, yaitu 2 siswa kategori AQ rendah (Quitters), 2 siswa kategori Peralihan dari Quitters ke Campers, 2 siswa AQ sedang (Campers), 2 siswa kategori Peralihan dari Campers ke Climbers, dan 2 siswa AQ tinggi (Climbers). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes angket adversity response profile untuk mengukur AQ dan tes tertulis SPLDV, dan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa ketika menyelesaikan soal cerita SPLDV, diantaranya: 1) Kesalahan data tidak tepat (inppropriate data/id); 2) Kesalahan prosedur tidak tepat (inappropriate procedure); 3) Kesalahan data hilang (omitted data); 4) Kesalahan kesimpulan hilang (omitted conclusion); 5) Kesalahan konflik level respon (response level conflict); 6) Kesalahan manipulasi tidak langsung (undirect manipulation); 7) Kesalahan masalah hirarki keterampilan (skill hierarcy problem; 8) dan selain ke-7 kategori di atas (above other). Selain itu, kesalahan yang paling sering dilakukan siswa kategori AQ Quitter (rendah) terjadi 2 kesalahan, pada kategori peralihan dari Quitters ke Campers ada 4 kesalahan, pada kategori Campers (sedang) ada 4 kesalahan, pada kategori peralihan dari Campers ke Climbers ada 2 kesalahan, pada kategori Climbers (tinggi) ada 1 kesalahan yaitu kesalahan. ***** This research aims to analyze the types of errors made by eighth grade students in solving story problems of System of Linear Equations with Two Variables (SPLDV) using Watson's criteria, reviewed from the Adversity Quotient (AQ). The research method is descriptive qualitative research. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 213 Jakarta with 10 selected student subjects who made the most errors in each category and were willing to be interviewed: 2 students in the low AQ category (Quitters), 2 students transitioning from Quitters to Campers, 2 students in the medium AQ category (Campers), 2 students transitioning from Campers to Climbers, and 2 students in the high AQ category (Climbers). Data collection was carried out using an adversity response profile questionnaire to measure AQ, a written SPLDV test, and interviews. Data analysis used data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the research results, the errors made by students when solving SPLDV word problems include:: 1) inappropriate data; 2) inappropriate procedure; 3) omitted data; 4) omitted conclusion; 5) response level conflict; 6) undirect manipulation; 7) skill hierarchy problem; 8) and other than the 7 categories above (above other). Additionally, the most frequent errors made by students in the Quitter (low AQ) category involved 2 types of errors; in the category transitioning from Quitters to Campers, there were 4 types of errors; in the Camper (medium AQ) category, there were 4 types of errors; in the category transitioning from Campers to Climbers, there were 2 types of errors; and in the Climber (high AQ) category, there was 1 type of error.
