Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe numbered head together (NHT) terhadap motivasi siswa pada materi larutan asam basa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yang dimana kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen diterapkan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe numbered head together (NHT) sedangkan kelompok kontrol diterapkan model pembelajaran inquiry learning. Tingkat motivasi siswa diukur dengan menggunakan kuisioner motivasi. Uji hipotesis hasil motivasi siswa menggunakan uji-t. Uji hipotesis motivasi siswa dengan paired samples t-test diperoleh antara nilai pretest dan posttest pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol mengalami sedangkan hasil independent t-test pada nilai posttest menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Uji Cohen’d Effect Size dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe numbered head together (NHT) terhadap motivasi siswa pada materi larutan asam basa dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh kuat dari penerapan tersebut. This study aim to determine the effect of the implementation of numbered head together (NHT) cooperative learning model on students’ on acid base material. The method used is quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling where class XI MIPA 1 as experimental group and class XI MIPA 2 as control group. The experimental group was carried out by applying numbered head together (NHT) cooperative learning model while the control group applied inquiry learning model. Students’ motivation was measured using a student motivation questionaire. Hypothesis test of students’ motivation tested using t-test. The hypothesis of students’ motivation with paired samples t-test showed that the level of students’ motivation in experimental and control group increased while the results of the independent t-test on posttest showed that the level of students’ motivation in experimental group was higher than the control group. The effect size test showed that numbered head together (NHT) cooperative learning model has strong effect on students’ motivation. The conclusion of this study is that the application of numbered head together (NHT) cooperative learning model can improve students’ motivation on acid base material.
