Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan struktur kognitif peserta didik kelas XI dengan menggunakan metode flow map pada materi laju reaksi menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 8E. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 peserta didik kelas XI F1 SMA 1 Cawang Baru tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui flow map, lembar kerja peserta didik, wawancara, reflektif jurnal, observasi, dan instrumen tes pemahaman. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data pada penelitian ini adalah Prolonged Engagement, Member Checking, Presistent Observation, dan Progressive Subjectivity. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Analisis struktur kognitif dilakukan dengan memperhatikan 6 variabel struktur kognitif berdasarkan Tsai yaitu Extent, Richness, Integrations, Misconceptions, Information retrival rate, dan Flexibility. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pada awal pembelajaran angka rata-rata dari variabel struktur kognitif peserta didik rendah dan angka rata-rata miskonsepsi tinggi. Selanjutnya, perkembangan struktur kognitif peserta didik menunjukkan perkembangannya setelah mengikuti kegiatan belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 8E. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 8E dapat membantu peserta didik mengembangkan struktur kognitifnya. This research aims to determine student’s cognitive structure of Rate of Reactions topics through flow map method by using 8E Learning Cycle. The subjects of this study were 34 students of XI FI SMA 1 Cawang Baru. This research used qualitative methods. Data were collected through flow map, student’s worksheet, interview, reflective journal, observation, and achievement test. Credibility that used in this study were Prolonged Engagement, Member Checking, Presistent Observation, and Progressive Subjectivity. Data were analyzed uses Miles and Huberman which is data reduction, display data, and conclution drawing/verification. Student’s structure cognitive analyzed by behold six variables of cognitive structure based on Tsai which contain Extent, Richness, Integrations, Misconceptions, Information retrival rate, and Flexibility. Based on the results of the study, the average number of students' cognitive structure variables is low at the beginning of learning and the average number of students with misconceptions is high. After students learn using 8E Learning Cycle student’s cognitive structure develop. This shows that the 8E Learning Cycle model can help students develop their cognitive structures.
