Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran dimensi budaya dalam aspek budaya masyarakat yang berasal dari suku Batak (N=214) dan suku Jawa (N=183). Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Values Survey Module (VSM) 2013 Hofstede. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya Batak memiliki power distance yang rendah (46), menganut collectivism, cenderung pada masculinity, memiliki uncertainty avoidance yang lemah (46), berorientasi jangka panjang (long-term orientation), dan cenderung pada dimensi restraint. Sedangkan pada budaya Jawa memiliki power distance yang tinggi (51), menganut collectivism, cenderung pada femininity, memiliki uncertainty avoidance yang lemah (51), berorientasi jangka pendek (short-term orientation), dan cenderung pada dimensi restraint. (*****) This study aims to determine the overview of cultural dimensions in the cultural aspects of society in the Batak tribe (N = 214) and the Javanese tribe (N = 183). The measuring instrument used in this study is Hofstede's Values Survey Module (VSM) 2013. The results showed that Batak culture has low power distance (46), adheres to collectivism, tends to masculinity, has weak uncertainty avoidance (46), long-term orientation, and tends to the restraint dimension. Meanwhile, Javanese culture has high power distance (51), embraces collectivism, tends to femininity, has weak uncertainty avoidance (51), short-term orientation, and tends to the restraint dimension.
