Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh adult attachment style terhadap romantic competence pada emerging adulthood. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis uji regresi linear berganda. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen ECR-R oleh Brennan, Clark, dan Shaver (1998) dan IRRC oleh Faber, Chin, Wilburn, dan Shafaie (2019). Pada pengambilan sampelnya, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik nonprobability accidental sampling dengan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Data diperoleh sebanyak 218 partisipan emerging adults berdomisili di Jabodetabek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh negatif antara anxious attachment style terhadap romantic competence (β = -0.255, Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). Terdapat juga pengaruh negatif antara avoidant attachment style dengan romantic competence (β = -0.421, Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). Jika dilihat secara parsial, dimensi anxious attachment memiliki sumbangan efektif (SE) sebesar 6.02% dan dimensi avoidant attachment memiliki sumbangan efektif sebesar 21.34%. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber referensi pengembangan ilmu dan referensi bagi profesional untuk psikoedukasi. ***** This research aims to examine the effect of adult attachment style on romantic competence in emerging adulthood. This study uses a quantitative method with multiple regression analysis. The data collection technique used the ECR-R instrument by Brennan, Clark, and Shaver (1998) and IRRC instrument by Faber, Chin, Wilburn, and Shafaie (2019). Sampling used nonprobability accidental sampling techniques using a questionnaire as data collection tool. Data were obtained from 218 emerging adult participants located in Jabodetabek. The results of the study showed that there was a negative effect between anxious attachment style and romantic competence (β = -0.255, Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). There was also a negative effect between avoidant attachment style and romantic competence (β = -0.421, Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). When viewed partially, the anxious attachment dimension has an effective contribution (EC) of 6.02% and the avoidant attachment dimension has an effective contribution of 21.34%. This study is expected to be a source of reference for the development of science and a reference for professionals for psychoeducation.
