Abstract

*****ABSTRAK***** Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan dalam tindak tutur anjuran yang terjadi dalam reality show “Terrace House: Opening New Doors”. Berdasarkan teori kesantunan yang dikemukakan oleh Leech dan strategi kesantunan dari Brown dan Levinson, peneliti menganalisis data dari dialog yang mengandung tindak tutur anjuran yang disampaikan oleh partisipan dalam reality show “Terrace House: Opening New Doors”. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan dan pencatatan dialog yang mengandung tindak tutur anjuran. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode padan referensial dengan tindak tutur anjuran sebagai referen penentunya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya 48 pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan dalam tindak tutur anjuran. Pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan paling banyak terjadi pada maksim pemufakatan sebanyak 30 data (63%), diikuti pelanggaran maksim penghargaan sebanyak 11 data (22%), dan pelanggaran maksim simpati sebanyak 7 data (15%). Strategi kesantunan yang paling sering digunakan adalah strategi kesantunan negatif sebanyak 17 data (35%), diikuti strategi kesantunan langsung tanpa basa-basi sebanyak 14 data (29%), strategi kesantunan positif sebanyak 10 data (21%), dan strategi tidak langsung sebanyak 7 data (15%). Kesimpulannya, bahwa pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan sering terjadi dalam penyampaian anjuran, terutama pelanggaran maksim pemufakatan. Pelanggaran ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman terhadap situasi mitra tutur dan mengutamakan keefektifan daripada kesantunan, Strategi kesantunan negatif adalah strategi yang paling banyak digunakan untuk mengatasi pelanggaran maksim pemufakatan, karena membantu mengurangi ketidaknyamanan, menunjukkan perhatian, dan meminimalkan ancaman terhadap wajah negatif mitra tutur. Kata Kunci: pragmatik, prinsip kesantunan, strategi kesantunan, tindak tutur anjuran, reality show “Terrace House: Opening New Doors”.  *****ABSTRACT***** This study aims to examine the violations of politeness principles in recommending speech acts that occur in the reality show "Terrace House: Opening New Doors". Based on the politeness theory proposed by Leech and the politeness strategies from Brown and Levinson, the researcher analyzes data from dialogues containing recommending speech acts delivered by participants in the reality show "Terrace House: Opening New Doors". The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and recording of dialogues containing recommending speech acts. The analysis method used is the referential matching method with recommending speech acts as the determining reference. The results of the study show that there are 48 violations of politeness principles in recommending speech acts. The most frequent violations occur in the agreement maxim with 30 instances (63%), followed by violations of the appreciation maxim with 11 instances (22%), and violations of the sympathy maxim with 7 instances (15%). The most frequently used politeness strategy is the negative politeness strategy with 17 instances (35%), followed by the bald on-record strategy with 14 instances (29%), the positive politeness strategy with 10 instances (21%), and the off-record strategy with 7 instances (15%). In conclusion, violations of politeness principles often occur in the delivery of recommendations, especially violations of the agreement maxim. These violations are caused by a lack of understanding of the interlocutor's situation and prioritizing effectiveness over politeness. The negative politeness strategy is the most used strategy to address violations of the agreement maxim, as it helps reduce discomfort, shows attention, and minimizes threats to the negative face of the interlocutor.
