Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas grup konseling karir dalam meningkatkan persepsi peluang kerja/self-perceived employability (SPE) pada mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan self-perceived employability scale yang dikembangkan oleh Rothwell dkk. (2008). Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 32 mahasiswa S1 yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang menerima intervensi berupa grup konseling karir dan kelompok kontrol yang tidak menerima intervensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intervensi grup konseling karir memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan self-perceived employability (SPE) pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari peningkatan nilai SPE yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen setelah intervensi. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa grup konseling karir efektif untuk meningkatkan self-perceived employability pada mahasiswa. ***** The overall unemployment rate recorded by the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2023 showed a decrease compared to the previous year. However, a deeper examination reveals that university graduates have experienced an increase in unemployment rates. This increase indicates a mismatch between the skills possessed by university students as prospective graduates and the demands of the job market. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of career group counseling in enhancing self-perceived employability (SPE) among university students. The career group counseling intervention was conducted using the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used in this study was the self-perceived employability scale developed by Rothwell et al. (2008). The research sample consisted of 32 undergraduate students divided into two groups: the experimental group, which received career group counseling intervention with the CBT approach, and the control group, which did not receive the intervention. The results showed that the career group counseling intervention had a significant impact on increasing self-perceived employability (SPE) in the experimental group compared to the control group. This was evidenced by a significant increase in SPE scores in the experimental group after the intervention. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that career group counseling is effective in enhancing self-perceived employability among university students.
