Abstract

***** This study aims to investigate the influence of fear of missing out (FOMO) and self-control on phone snubbing behavior among students at State University of Jakarta. The research employed a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. Purposive sampling was utilized to collect data from 400 students. The research instruments included the Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP), Fear of Missing Out Scale (FOMOS), and Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS). The findings revealed that both FOMO and self-control significantly influence phone snubbing behavior. FOMO demonstrated a significant positive association with phone snubbing, while self-control exhibited a significant negative relationship with phone snubbing.
