Abstract
Kata Kunci: Altruisme, Kecenderungan Mengambil Risiko, Emerging Adulthood **** This study aims to determine whether altruism can predict the risk taking propensity among emerging adulthood residing in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). Altruism was measured using the Self Report Altruism (SRA) scale developed by Rushton et al. (1981), while the risk taking propensity was measured using the General Risk Propensity Scale (GRIPS) by Zhang et al. (2019). The research method used was a survey by distributing online questionnaires to 167 respondents using non-probability sampling techniques, accidental sampling. The statistics analysis technique employed in this study involved the Pearson product-moment hypothesis test and simple linear regression test. The results of the study indicate a positive relationship between the level of altruism and the risk taking propensity, and altruism was found to be a predictor of the risk taking propensity. Keywords: Altruism, Risk Taking Propensity, Emerging Adulthood
