Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pemahaman demokrasi dengan civic disposition siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Negeri 50 Jakarta dengan populasi kelas XI sebanyak 251 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan non probability sampling dengan jenis yaitu sampling insidental. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 72 responden yang dihitung menggunakan rumus slovin dengan margin error 10%. Pada variabel X dan Y digunakan rumus korelasi product moment pearson untuk uji validitas dan rumus alpha cronbach untuk uji reliabilitas. Teknik pengolahan data meliputi uji normalitas, uji linearitas, uji koefisien korelasi product moment dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat hubungan yang positif antara pemahaman demokrasi dengan civic disposition siswa dengan tingkat koefisien korelasi antar variabel yaitu tinggi. Hal ini diketahui dari hasil uji koefisien korelasi product moment menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,672. Peneliti juga menemukan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemahaman demokrasi dengan civic disposition siswa. Hal ini diketahui dari hasil uji signifikansi menunjukan nilai thitung (7,584) > ttabel (1,994) dan nilai Sig. (0,000) < (0,05). Kesimpulan diperoleh pada penelitian ini yaitu terdapat hubungan yang positif yang signifikan antara pemahaman demokrasi dengan civic disposition siswa dengan tingkat koefisien korelasi antar variabel yaitu tinggi. Hal ini mengandung arti bahwa semakin tinggi pemahaman demokrasi siswa semakin baik pula civic disposition siswa. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 50 Jakarta with a population of class XI as many as 251 students. This study uses quantitative methods with correlational research design. Sample determination is done by non probability sampling with the type of sampling insidental. The sample in this study were 72 respondents who were calculated using the slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. On variables X and Y, Pearson's product moment correlation formula is used for validity testing and Cronbach's alpha formula for reliability testing. Data processing techniques include normality test, linearity test, product moment correlation coefficient test and simple linear regression test. The results showed that there is a positive relationship between understanding democracy and students' civic disposition with a high level of correlation coefficient between variables. This is known from the results of the product moment correlation coefficient test which shows a value of 0.672. Researchers also found that there is a significant relationship between understanding democracy and student civic disposition. This is known from the results of the significance test showing the value of tcount (7.584) > ttable (1.994) and the value of Sig. (0,000) < (0,05). The conclusion obtained in this study is that there is a significant positive relationship between understanding democracy and student civic disposition with a high level of correlation coefficient between variables. This means that the higher the students' understanding of democracy, the better the students' civic disposition. Keywords: Understanding, Democracy, Civic Disposition
