Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah melalui pendekatan open-ended dengan model Problem Based Learning pada materi volume bangun ruang kubus dan balok siswa kelas V SDN Ciracas 11 Pagi. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Ciracas 11 Pagi Jakarta Timur. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VB yang berjumlah 32 orang siswa. Data skor tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah muatan pelajaran matematika pada siklus I mencapai 53,13%, kemudian pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dan telah memenuhi kriteria ketercapaian yang ditetapkan mencapai 84,38%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan open-ended dengan model Problem Based Learning dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas VB SDN Ciracas 11 Pagi sehingga guru dapat menggunakan pendekatan open-ended dengan model Problem Based Learning sebagai salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. ***** This study was conducted to improve problem solving skills through the open-ended approach with the Problem Based Learning model on the volume of cubes and beams of grade V students of SDN Ciracas 11 Pagi. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. This research was conducted at SDN Ciracas 11 Pagi, East Jakarta. The subjects of this study were VB class students totaling 32 students. Data on the test score of problem solving ability in mathematics content in cycle I reached 53.13%, then in cycle II it increased and met the established achievement criteria reaching 84.38%. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the open-ended approach with the Problem Based Learning model in learning mathematics can improve the problem solving skills of VB grade students of SDN Ciracas 11 Pagi so that teachers can use the open-ended approach with the Problem Based Learning model as an alternative to improve students' problem solving skills in learning mathematics.
