Abstract

*****ABSTRAK***** Philadelphia, seperti halnya banyak pusat kota lainnya, telah menghadapi banyak sekali tantangan sosio-spasial belakangan ini, yang paling menonjol adalah episode kerusuhan sipil. Penelitian ini menggunakan kerangka teori "Hak atas Kota" oleh David Harvey dan Henri Lefebvre untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai isu-isu tersebut. Dengan menggunakan analisis wacana yang berorientasi pada teks, data untuk analisis ini diperoleh dari dokumen-dokumen utama termasuk artikel berita, laporan langsung, laporan kota, dan konten media sosial yang tersedia untuk umum, seperti cuitan dari X. Dengan menempatkan tantangan Philadelphia dalam analisis Harvey tentang urbanisasi kapitalis dan konsep Lefebvre tentang "Hak atas Kota" dan "Produksi Ruang", penelitian ini menemukan dinamika spasial yang mendasari dan keharusan kapitalis yang membentuk perjuangan kota saat ini. * *****ABSTRACT***** Philadelphia, like many urban centers, has faced a myriad of socio-spatial challenges in recent times, most notably are episodes of civil unrest. This study employed the theoretical frameworks of “The Right to The City” by David Harvey and Henri Lefebvre to provide a nuanced understanding of these issues. Utilizing a text-oriented discourse analysis, data for this analysis were derived from primary documents including news articles, firsthand accounts, city reports, and publicly available social media content, such as tweets from X. By situating Philadelphia's challenges within Harvey's analyzes of capitalist urbanization and Lefebvre's concept of the "Right to the City" and "Production of Space," the study found the underlying spatial dynamics and capitalist imperatives shaping the city's current struggles.
