Abstract

*****ABSTRAK***** Tesis ini menganalisis bagaimana bentuk dari pasangan berdampingan dan struktur preferensi dalam wawancara promosi film di The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon bersama dengan Jenna Ortega. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan fokus pada analisis konten. Penelitian ini menerapkan teori dari Rebecca Clift (2016) dan George Yule (1996) untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk dari adjacency pairs dan struktur preferensi dalam percakapan wawancara tersebut.Data yang digunakan berasal dari video dan transkrip dari acara tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 14 data yang dibagi menjadi, 10 tipe pasangan question-answer, 1 proposal-agreement, 2 assessment-agreement, dan 1 compliment-thanks. Bentuk struktur preferensi atau respon yang dominan dalam percakapan tersebut adalah preferred yang menunjukkan bahwa percakapan dan promosi film yang dilakukan pada wawancara tersebut berjalan dengan mulus. ***** *****ABSTRACT***** This thesis analyzes the forms of adjacency pairs and preference structures in the film promotion interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with Jenna Ortega. The method used is qualitative, focusing on content analysis. The study applies the theories of Rebecca Clift (2016) and George Yule (1996) to identify the forms of adjacency pairs and preference structures in the interview conversation. The data used from the video and transcript of the show. The results of the study show that there are 14 data, divided into 10 question-answer pairs, 1 proposal-agreement pair, 2 assessment-agreement pairs, and 1 compliment-thanks pair. The dominant preference structure or response in the conversation is preferred, indicating that the conversation and film promotion conducted in the interview went smoothly.
