Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi gender pada karakter Enola Holmes dalam novel A Enola Holmes Mystery #1: The Case of Missing Marquess. Studi ini juga menganalisis bagaimana feminisme mempengaruhi karakter Enola. Data diambil dari novel A Enola Holmes Mystery #1: The Case of Missing Marquess yang berupa narasi dan dialog dalam novel. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Peneliti menganalisis data menggunakan teori feminisme dari Simon de Beauvoir. Studi ini menjawab dua pertanyaan terkait dengan novel yang mengungkapkan stereotip ketidaksetaraan gender dalam keluarga dan bagaimana ketidaksetaraan gender dalam keluarga mempengaruhi Enola Holmes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa jenis ketidaksetaraan gender dalam keluarga, yaitu pemaksaan dan penilaian. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bagaimana karakter utama berjuang melawan penindasan yang dialaminya, yaitu dengan cara melarikan diri dari keluarganya. Terakhir, studi ini menampilkan dampak dari ketidaksetaraan gender dalam keluarga. Enola mengalami perkembangan karakter sehingga ia menjadi wanita yang cerdas, kuat, memiliki pendirian yang teguh, mengikuti kata hatinya, dan menjadi wanita yang mandiri.Kata Kunci : Enola Holmes, Feminis, Ketidaksetaraan gender, Simon de Beauvoir **** This study aims to analyze the representation of inequality gender in character of Enola Holmes in the novel of A Enola Holmes Mystery #1: The Case of Missing Marquess. This study also analyzes how the feminist impacted to character of Enola. The data was taken from the novel of A Enola Holmes Mystery #1: The Case of Missing Marquess is the narration of the dialog on the novel. The method used in this study is qualitative method. The researcher analyzes the data using the theory of Simon de Beauvoir namely feminism theory. The study answered two questions related to the novel reveal gender inequality stereotypes and how gender inequality influence Enola Holmes. The result showed that there are some kinds of gender inequality, they are some forcing and judging. The study also showed how the main character struggled by fight the oppression experienced by her that is to, namely by the female lead run away from her family. Lastly the study displayed the impacts of the gender inequality. Enola experience character development that she become an intelligent woman, strong woman, strong stance and follow her heart and independent woman Keyword: Enola Holmes, Feminist, Gender Inequality, Simone de Beauvoir.
