Abstract

*****ABSTRAK***** Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan memaparkan citra perempuan dalam novel 'Al-Karnak' karya Najib Mahfudz. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis isi. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengklasifikasikan ciri citra perempuan berdasarkan klasifikasi yang dikemukakan oleh Soediro Satoto, meliputi citra fisik, citra psikis, dan citra sosial. Hasil penelitian dalam novel ini menunjukkan 35 bukti. Terdapat 6 bukti citra fisik perempuan, yaitu: (1) tubuh sebagai seni sebanyak 3 bukti, (2) perhatian pada gaya hidup sebanyak 3 bukti. Citra psikis memiliki 17 bukti, yaitu: (1) kesabaran 1 bukti, (2) penyayang 8 bukti, (3) lemah lembut 4 bukti, (4) pekerja keras 3 bukti, (5) dapat melakukan hal luar biasa 1 bukti. Citra sosial memiliki 12 bukti, yaitu: (1) perempuan sebagai ibu/istri 3 bukti, (2) berani menyuarakan haknya 2 bukti, (3) membela diri 7 bukti. Disarankan bagi para mahasiswa bahasa Arab untuk memanfaatkan studi ini sebagai referensi dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah Telaah Sastra dan memahami citra perempuan dalam karya sastra di Timur Tengah, terutama novel-novel. Kata kunci: Citra Perempuan, Novel 'Al-Karnak', Perempuan, Novel, Feminisme. ****ABSTRACT***** This study aims to reveal and describe the image of women in the novel 'Al-Karnak' by Najib Mahfudz. The method used is descriptive qualitative with content analysis. The analysis is conducted by classifying the characteristics of women's images based on the classification proposed by Soediro Satoto, including physical image, psychological image, and social image. The research results in this novel show 35 pieces of evidence. There are 6 pieces of evidence of women's physical image, namely: (1) body as art as much as 3 pieces of evidence, (2) attention to lifestyle as much as 3 pieces of evidence. The psychic image has 17 pieces of evidence, namely: (1) patience 1 piece of evidence, (2) affectionate 8 pieces of evidence, (3) gentle 4 evidence, (4) hardworking 3 evidence, and (5) can do extraordinary things 1 evidence. The social image has 12 pieces of evidence, namely: (1) women as mothers/wives 3 evidence, (2) dare to voice their rights 2 evidence, (3) defend themselves 7 evidence. It is recommended for Arabic language students to utilize this study as a reference in learning Literature Studies courses and understanding the image of women in literary works in the Middle East, especially novels.
