Abstract

The measurement of the ‘Pancasila’ Student Profile (3P) has become a necessity in secondary education since its implementation was integrated into the curriculum. Teachers commonly employ methods such as observation, peer assessment, and self-assessment to measure 3P. However, the use of Situational Judgment Tests (SJT) to assess the 3P dimensions remain underexplored, despite SJT's reliability in measuring behavioural aspects. The objective of this study is to develop a 3P measurement instrument model using the SJT method so that teachers can easily duplicate it. The 3P instrument consists of six dimensions, with each dimension restricted to two indicators and each indicator contains four items, resulting in a total of 48 items. The trial respondents for this study involved 2,100 tenth-grade high school students in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi. The data were analysed using IRTpro, Jamovi, and SPSS software. The development of the measurement instrument model is derived from the analysis of several existing development steps, synthesized into 3 phases with 11 development steps. The validity of the instrument was assessed through a contemporary perspective, encompassing content validity, internal structure, and correlations with other constructs to form a nomological network. The Centrality of Religiosity and Spirituality (CRS) and Behavioural Social Emotional Inventory (BESSI) instruments were chosen as instruments that were correlated with 3P. SJT response formats produced categorical data, while CRS and BESSI generated ordinal data. The findings indicate that the Item Response Theory (IRT) Nominal Response Model (NRM) is proven to be more fit compared to other models. The goodness-of-fit model is seen from the index of χ²/df = 2.37, SRMR = 0.043, RMSEA = 0.026, CFI = 0.949, TLI = 0.946, and GFI = 0.983. The item parameter analysis produced 41 items fit for the proposed model, as evidenced by a discrimination index ≥ 0.5, S_2 ≥ 0.05, factor loadings ≥ 0.3, and reliability ≥ 0.5. The dimensions and indicators of 3P showed positive correlations ranging from 0.08 to 0.209 with CRS and BESSI at a 0.01 significance level which the presence of a nomological network between 3P, CRS, and BESSI. It was concluded that the developed 3P measurement instrument is valid and reliable for assessing 3P in Grade 10 high school students or equivalent levels. The 3P assessment results categorize ability parameters into four bands: Band 1 (requires guidance), Band 2 (requires reinforcement), Band 3 (good behaviour meeting expectations), and Band 4 (excellent behaviour exceeding expectations). The study is limited to indicators within the dimensions of 3P as outlined by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, as well as trial respondents limited to Grade 10 students. Further research may explore additional indicators relevant to 3P dimensions, broader age groups, and the development of 3P instruments into an assessment tool for evaluating graduate profiles in Indonesian schools with deep learning.
