Abstract

Penelitian ini secara garis besar memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena putus sekolah pada masyarakat kelas bawah yang terjadi di Kampung Sumur, Klender. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana hasil dari disfungsi sosial menjadi penyebab terjadinya fenomena putus sekolah terutama pada masyarakat tertinggal yang ada di permukiman kumuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data penelitian dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, studi pustaka pada dokumentasi terkait dan dokumentasi lainnya. Subjek penelitian ini ada sebanyak 12 informan yaitu 6 orang tua anak putus sekolah sebagai informan kunci, kemudian 6 informan lainnya untuk data triangulasi yang meliputi 3 orang warga dan 3 tokoh masyaraka. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Kampung Sumur, Klender, Jakarta Timur. Sebelum melakukan penelitian, peneliti mengamati Kampung Sumur terhitung mulai dari bulan Agustus 2023. Kemudian peneliti mulai melakukan wawancara dari bulan Agustus hingga bulan Oktober 2024. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa peran keluarga, pemerintah dan lingkungan sosial menjadi penyebab terjadinya fenomena putus sekolah di Kampung Sumur, Klender. Penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan Disfungsi Sosial. Berdasarkan konsep tersebut terdapat tiga Disfungsi yang menjadi penyebab terjadinya fenomena putus sekolah di Kampung Sumur, diantaranya yaitu, Disfungsi Keluarga, Disfungsi Struktural dan Disfungsi Kultural. Pada Disfungsi Keluarga ditemukan hasil bahwa sosial ekonomi rendah menjadi penyebab tidak mampunya orang tua dalam mendorong anak untuk mendapatkan hak pendidikan yang layak, sehingga skala prioritas anak bukan lagi tentang pendidikan. Disfungsi Struktural berkaitan dengan tidak meratanya pendistribusian bantuan kebijakan pendidikan dan kendala pada sistem pengurusan administrasi kependudukan bagi anak putus sekolah yang merupakan masyarakat pindahan. Sedangkan Disfungsi Kultural, menunjukkan hasil adanya normal, pandangan, serta kebiasaan dalam lingkungan yang membentuk mentalitas serta tekad anak dalam melanjutkan pendidikannya. ***** This study broadly aims to describe the phenomenon of school dropouts in lowerclass communities that occur in Kampung Sumur, Klender. This study shows how the results of social dysfunction cause the phenomenon of school dropouts, especially in disadvantaged communities in slums. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Research data is conducted through observation, in depth interviews, literature studies on related documentation and other documentation. The subjects of this study were 12 informants, namely 6 parents of school dropouts as key informants, the 6 other informants for triangulation data including 3 residents and 3 community leaders. The location of the study was in Kampung Sumur, Klender, East Jakarta. Before conducting the study, the researcher observed Kampung Sumur starting from August 2023. Then the researcher began conducting interviews from August to October 2024. The results of this study explain that the role of family, Government, and social environment is the cause of the phenomenon of dropping out of school in Kampung Sumur, Klender. This study was analyzed using Social Dysfunction. Based on this concept, there are three Dysfunctions that cause the phenomenon of dropping out of school in Kampung Sumur, including Family Dysfunction, Structural Dysfunction, and Cultural Dysfunction. In Family Dysfunction, it was found that low socio-economic status is the cause of parents inability to encourage children to get proper education rights, so that the child’s priority scale is no longer about education. Structural Dysfunction is related to the uneven distribution of educational policy assistance and obstacles in the population administration system for school dropouts who are resettled communities. Meanwhile, Cultural Dysfunction shows the results of the existence of norms, views, and habits in the environment that shape the mentality and determination of children to continue their education.
