Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas V SD di Kecamatan Jatinegara, Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V di SDN yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Jatinegara, Jakarta Timur. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V-A sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 23 dan siswa kelas V-B sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 23. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model discovery learning dan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran saintifik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes yang diuji normalitas dengan uji Lilliefors dan homogenitas dengan uji Barlett sebagai uji persyaratan data. Hasil pengujian normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan data memiliki varian yang homogen. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dengan rumus independent sampel t-test. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji-t, diperoleh harga thitung>ttabel yaitu 5,44 > 1,68 , maka H1 diterima. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model discovery learning berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas V SD di Kecamatan Jatinegara, Jakarta Timur. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on the mathematical problem-solving ability of fifth-grade elementary school students in Jatinegara District, East Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all fifth-grade students at elementary schools located in Jatinegara District, East Jakarta. The sample in this study was 23 students of class V-A as the experimental class and 23 students of class V-B as the control class. Sampling used the cluster sampling technique. The experimental class used the discovery learning model and the control class used the scientific learning model. Data collection was carried out using a test instrument that was tested for normality with the Lilliefors test and homogeneity with the Barlett test as a data requirement test. The results of the normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and the data had homogeneous variance. Furthermore, a hypothesis analysis was carried out using the t-test with the independent sample t-test formula. Based on the results of the t-test calculation, the value of tcount> ttable was 5.44> 1.68, so H1 was accepted. The results of the study showed that the discovery learning model had a significant effect on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fifth grade elementary school students in Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.
