Abstract
This labeling restricts students' movement, inhibits their development and does not allow them to receive appropriate treatment. School counselors and school community need to see the other side or what they experience so that they behave deviantly while at school. The purpose of this study is to find out what and how difficult and painful experiences troubled students have gone through. The method used in this research is Mixed Method with Explanatory Sequential Design (TwoPhase Design). The results of the quantitative phase of the research showed that 90% of the 30 troubled learners experienced ACEs during their lifetime with the results of the qualitative phase, most of the forms of ACEs experienced were violence, neglect, neglect, the condition of parents and family members, and sibling rivalry. Therefore, counseling teachers need to screen ACE issues in students labeled as troubled than provide appropriate treatment as soon as possible.
