Tatu Sutihawati. 2025. "Mengaplikasikan Mixed Media pada Rompi Menggunakan Teknik Crochet Inspirasi Bunga Anggrek Endemik". Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Rupa. Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni. Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Rompi fesyen dengan desain inovatif yang menggabungkan mixed media kain, benang dan peyet dengan teknik crochet. Karya ini terinspirasi oleh keindahan dan keunikan bunga anggrek endemik, khususnya Anggrek Kasut Berbulu (Paphiopedilum glaucophyllum). Urgensi dari penelitian ini yang mengangkat spesies anggrek sebagai inspirasi terletak pada kelangkaan dan keunikannya. Hal ini penting untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian generasi muda terhadap pelestarian flora endemik Indonesia. Nilai estetika dan keunikan visual anggrek paphiopedilum glaucophyllum, terutama bentuk dan corak bunganya, menjadi sumber inspirasi utama dalam pengembangan desain rompi. Tujuan penciptaan karya ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi konsep, karakteristik visual, dan operasional dalam mengaplikasikan mixed media dengan teknik crochet inspirasi bunga anggrek endemik pada produk rompi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode practice-led research, yang melibatkan observasi, studi literatur, wawancara, dan eksperimen. Data dikumpulkan melalui magang dengan pengrajin crochet dan konsultasi dengan ahli di bidang mixed media, crochet, dan desain fesyen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rompi mixed media dengan teknik crochet inspirasi bunga anggrek endemik memiliki potensi untuk menjadi produk fesyen yang unik, kreatif, dan estetis. Karya ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan apresiasi terhadap seni kerajinan tangan, mengangkat nilai keindahan flora endemik Indonesia, dan menginspirasi perkembangan teknik-teknik baru dalam seni tekstil khususnya seni crochet. This is a fashion vest with an innovative design that combines mixed media fabrics, yarn, and felt using crochet techniques. This work is inspired by the beauty and uniqueness of endemic orchid flowers, specifically the Hairy Slipper Orchid (Paphiopedilum glaucophyllum). The urgency of this research, which uses orchids as inspiration, lies in their rarity and uniqueness. This is important to raise awareness and concern among the younger generation about the conservation of Indonesia's endemic flora. The aesthetic value and visual uniqueness of the Paphiopedilum glaucophyllum orchid, especially the shape and pattern of its flowers, are the main sources of inspiration in the development of the vest design. The purpose of creating this work is to explore the concepts, visual characteristics, and operational aspects of applying mixed media with crochet techniques inspired by endemic orchid flowers to vest products. This research uses a qualitative approach with a practice-led research method, which involves observation, literature study, interviews, and experiments. Data was collected through internships with crochet artisans and consultations with experts in mixed media, crochet, and fashion design. The results of the research show that the mixed media vest with crochet techniques inspired by endemic orchid flowers has the potential to be a unique, creative, and aesthetic fashion product. This work is expected to increase appreciation for handicraft arts, elevate the beauty of Indonesia's endemic flora, and inspire the development of new techniques in textile arts, particularly crochet art.
