Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pengurus Yayasan Rumah Kita dalam pengembangan potensi anak jalanan di Kelurahan Cipinang Besar Utara, Jakarta Timur. Fokus penelitian mencakup empat fungsi peran sosial yang dijalankan oleh pengurus, yaitu fasilitatif, pendidik, representatif, dan teknis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan strategi studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap 14 informan, yang terdiri dari pengurus yayasan, anak binaan aktif, alumni, serta orang tua anak binaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran pengurus yayasan secara signifikan memengaruhi pengembangan potensi anak binaan melalui kegiatan pembinaan nonformal, penguatan karakter, serta pelibatan dalam program berbasis minat. Dalam kerangka teori kebutuhan yang diperoleh (Need for Achievement, Affiliation, and Power) dari McClelland, ditemukan bahwa yayasan secara sistematis membina kebutuhan anak akan prestasi (n-Ach), afiliasi sosial (n-Aff), dan pengaruh sosial (n-Pow). Anak-anak yang sebelumnya hidup tanpa arah mengalami transformasi menjadi individu yang percaya diri, aktif berorganisasi, dan memiliki cita-cita. Faktor pendukung mencakup komitmen relawan, dukungan alumni, dan kerja sama eksternal, sementara hambatan utama meliputi keterbatasan dana, partisipasi keluarga yang rendah, dan sistem evaluasi yang belum terdigitalisasi. Secara keseluruhan, peran pengurus Yayasan Rumah Kita tidak hanya membantu anak jalanan keluar dari kondisi marginal, tetapi juga mendorong mereka menjadi individu yang mandiri, terampil, dan mampu berkontribusi positif bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengurus Yayasan Rumah Kita menjalankan fungsi peran sosial secara multidimensi, dengan pendekatan komunitas yang humanistik dan berkelanjutan. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan pendidikan masyarakat serta praktik pembinaan anak jalanan berbasis kebutuhan sosial dan pengalaman. ***** This study aims to analyze the role of the management of the Rumah Kita Foundation in developing the potential of street children in Cipinang Besar Utara, East Jakarta. The focus of the study covers four social role functions carried out by the management, namely facilitative, educational, representative, and technical. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study strategy. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies of 14 informants, consisting of the management of the foundation, active foster children, alumni, and parents of foster children. The results of the study indicate that the role of the management of the foundation significantly influences the development of the potential of foster children through non-formal coaching activities, character strengthening, and involvement in interest-based programs. Within the framework of McClelland's theory of acquired needs (Need for Achievement, Affiliation, and Power), it was found that the foundation systematically fosters children's needs for achievement (n-Ach), social affiliation (n-Aff), and social influence (n-Pow). Children who previously lived without direction experienced a transformation into individuals who were confident, active in organizations, and had ideals. Supporting factors include volunteer commitment, alumni support, and external collaboration, while major barriers include limited funding, low family participation, and an evaluation system that has not been digitized. Overall, the role of the Rumah Kita Foundation management is not only to help street children escape from marginal conditions, but also to encourage them to become independent, skilled individuals who are able to contribute positively to society. This study concludes that the Rumah Kita Foundation management carries out social role functions in a multidimensional manner, with a humanistic and sustainable community approach. These findings contribute to the development of community education and the practice of fostering street children based on social needs and experience.
