Abstract

Marselino Pedro Tito Yunior. Pola Adaptasi Sosial Pelajar Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Tinggal Kelas Dalam Lingkungan Sosial (Studi Kasus: 5 Siswa Tinggal Kelas di Jakarta Timur), Skripsi. Jakarta: Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2025. Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama, Pertama untuk Mendeskripsikan faktorfaktor apa saja yang melatarbelakangi siswa tinggal kelas. Kedua, Mendeskripsikan pandangan lingkungan sosial di sekitar siswa tinggal kelas. Ketiga, untuk Mendeskripsikan proses adaptasi 5 siswa tinggal kelas di dalam lingkungan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dalam penelitian ini didapatkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi literatur. Subjek penelitian yang menjadi informan kunci adalah siswa SMA yang tinggal kelas yang berjumlah 5 orang dimana berasal dari berbagai macam sekolah, yaitu SMAN 71, SMAN 59, SMAN 53 dan SMA Pusaka 1 Jakarta. Kemudian dilengkapi oleh 5 informan tambahan dan 3 informan triangulasi, yaitu guru dan teman dekat siswa yang tinggal kelas dari masing-masing sekolah. Waktu penelitian berlangsung mulai dari bulan Feburari 2023-Juli 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa siswa yang tinggal kelas dipengaruhi oleh 2 faktor, yakni Munculnya rasa malas dari dalam diri sendiri (faktor internal) dan berasal dari lingkungan pertemanan di sekolah (faktor eksternal). Pandangan guru dan teman dekat siswa tinggal kelas yakni cenderung merasa perihatin dan juga kecewa. Proses adaptasi yang dilakukan para siswa berbeda satu sama lain yakni dengan cara berbaur, selektif, bersosialisasi, mencoba membuka diri secara bertahap, dan yang terakhir adaptasi secara simbolik dengan lingkungan pertemanan di angkatan yang baru. Social Adaptation Patterns of Senior High School Students (SMA) Living in a Social Environment (Case Study: 5 Students Living in a Social Environment in East Jakarta), Thesis. Jakarta: Sociology Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Jakarta State University, 2025. This study has three main objectives: first, to describe the factors underlying students' repeated grades. second, to describe the social environment surrounding the repeated grades. third, to describe the adaptation process of five repeated grades within their social environment. This study employed a qualitative research approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review. The key informants were five high school students who had been repeated a grade, coming from various schools: SMAN 71, SMAN 59, SMAN 53, and SMA Pusaka 1 Jakarta. Five additional informants and three triangulation informants, namely teachers and close friends of the students who had been repeated a grade from each school, were also included. The study period was from February 2023 to July 2023. The research results show that students who are held back from a grade are influenced by two factors: laziness from within themselves (internal factor) and a perceived lack of friendship at school (external factor). Teachers and close friends of students who are held back from a grade tend to feel concerned and disappointed. The students' adaptation process varies from one year to another: through mingling, being selective, socializing, gradually opening up, and finally, symbolically adapting to their new classmates.
