Abstract
***** The usage of paylater services in Indonesia has shown consistent annual growth, with Shopee PayLater emerging as one of the most dominant providers. However, excessive use of paylater services may lead to addiction, particularly among university students. To analyze the behavioral dynamics of this addiction, this study employs the SHEAR mathematical model (Susceptible, Hesitant, Exposed, Addicted, Recovered). The analysis involves determining equilibrium points, examining their stability, and calculating the basic reproduction number (R0). The stability property of the equilibrium point is determined by the value of the base reproduction number (R0). Through numerical simulation, the study identifies an endemic equilibrium point (x^*) for the SHEAR model, with a basic reproduction number of R0 = 3.536 > 1, indicating that the endemic equilibrium is asymptotically stable. This implies that Shopee PayLater addiction spreads within the population. Furthermore, by applying control to the parameter \alpha, the reproduction number is reduced to R0 = 0.36159 < 1, indicating that the disease-free (non-endemic) equilibrium is asymptotically stable, meaning the Shopee PayLater addiction does not spread within the population.
