Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran STEM terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IV SD. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas IV A sebanyak 32 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan IV B sebanyak 32 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol di SDN Karet 04 Kecamatan Setiabudi Jakarta Selatan. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen, dengan desain Pre-post-test two group controll design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes yang diuji normalitas dengan uji Lilliefors dan homogenitas dengan uji Barlett sebagai uji persyaratan data. Hasil pengujian normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan data memiliki varian yang homogen. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dengan rumus independent sampel t-test. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji-t, diperoleh harga thitung>ttabel yaitu 2,12 > 1,67, maka H1 diterima. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran STEM berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahkan masalah matematis siswa kelas IV SD di Kecamatan Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan. **** This experimental study investigated the influence of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning model on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students. The sample consisted of 32 students in class IV A, designated as the experimental group, and 32 students in class IV B, serving as the control group. Both classes were from SDN Karet 04, Setiabudi District, South Jakarta. Cluster random sampling was used for sample selection. The research employed an experimental method with a Pre-post-test two-group control design. Data collection utilized a test instrument, which underwent normality testing with the Lilliefors test and homogeneity testing with the Barlett test as prerequisites. The results of these tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and had homogeneous variances. Subsequently, hypothesis analysis was conducted using the independent sample t-test. Based on the t-test calculations, the calculated t-value (thitung) was 2.12, which was greater than the critical t-value (ttabel) of 1.67. This led to the acceptance of H1, indicating a significant effect. The findings of this study demonstrate that the STEM learning model significantly impacts the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students in the Setiabudi District, South Jakarta.
