Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan kegiatan Labscare dan dampaknya terhadap peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan peserta didik SMP Labschool Jakarta. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan Labscare dilaksanakan secara terstruktur dan melibatkan berbagai pihak, seperti koordinator kegiatan, guru, dan peserta didik. Kegiatan ini mencakup aksi nyata seperti pengelolaan sampah, pengurangan sampah sekali pakai, dan kegiatan sosial berbasis lingkungan. Dampak kegiatan ini terlihat dari peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan peserta didik melalui tiga aspek pendidikan karakter menurut Thomas Lickona, yaitu moral knowing (pengetahuan moral), moral feeling (perasaan moral), dan moral action (tindakan moral). Peserta didik menunjukkan perubahan positif dalam kesadaran, sikap, dan perilaku peduli lingkungan, baik di sekolah maupun di luar sekolah. Penelitian ini juga didukung oleh teori ekosentrisme Arne Naess yang menekankan keterhubungan antara manusia dan alam sebagai dasar tanggung jawab ekologis. Dengan demikian, kegiatan Labscare terbukti berhasil sebagai model pendidikan karakter berbasis aksi nyata dalam menumbuhkan kepedulian lingkungan pada peserta didik.*****This study aims to examine the implementation process of the Labscare activities and their impact on enhancing the environmental care character of students at SMP Labschool Jakarta. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that Labscare activities were conducted in a structured manner involving various stakeholders, such as activity coordinators, teachers, and students. These activities encompassed real actions such as waste management, reduction of single-use plastics, and environmentally focused social programs. The impact of these activities is evident in the improvement of students' environmental care character through the three aspects of character education by Thomas Lickona: moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Students demonstrated positive changes in awareness, attitude, and behavior toward the environment, both in and outside the school. This study is also supported by Arne Naess's theory of ecocentrism, which emphasizes the interconnection between humans and nature as the foundation of ecological responsibility. Thus, the Labscare program is proven to be an effective action-based character education model in fostering students’ environmental awareness.
