Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi internet telah merubah banyak hal pada berbagai sektor, salah satunya adalah sektor keuangan yang populer disebut dengan financial technology (Fintech). Salah satu produk dari financial technology yang paling banyak diminati adalah pinjaman online. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang telah peneliti lakukan, beberapa mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum Universitas Negeri Jakarta pernah menggunakan pinjaman online dan beberapa di antaranya pernah mengalami kesulitan dalam membayar pinjaman online tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pinjaman online di kalangan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan kepada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum Universitas Negeri Jakarta sebanyak 86 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, kuesioner, studi kepustakaan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum Universitas Jakarta tentang pinjaman online termasuk dalam kategori positif. Mereka sudah mengetahui dan memahami terkait konsep dan karakteristik pinjaman online, dan mampu membedakan pinjaman online legal dan ilegal. Faktor yang menyebabkan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum Universitas Jakarta menggunakan pinjaman online adalah faktor kondisi ekonomi. Kata Kunci: Financial Technology, Pinjaman Online, Mahasiswa ***** The rapid development of internet technology has transformed various sectors, including the financial sector, popularly known as financial technology (Fintech). One of the most popular financial technology products is online loans. Based on the researcher's observations, several college students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Jakarta State University, have used online loans, and some have experienced difficulties in repaying them. This study aims to determine online loans among college students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Jakarta State University. The research method used was descriptive with a quantitative approach. The study was conducted with 86 college students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Jakarta State University. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, literature review, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that college students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, University of Jakarta, have a positive perception of online loans. They already know and understand the concept and characteristics of online loans and are able to distinguish between legal and illegal online loans. Economic factors contribute to students' use of online loans. Keywords: Financial Technology, Online Loans, College Students
