Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena sense of belonging dalam komunitas virtual grup Facebook Pejuang TBC Indonesia. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada faktor-faktor yang membentuk terbentuknya sense of belonging, serta bagaimana fenomena tersebut termanifestasi dalam aktivitas. Analisis menggunakan konsep sense of belonging yang mencakup fit (kesesuaian), value involvement (keterlibatan nilai), dan inclusion (inklusi). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi virtual (netnografi). Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Informan terdiri atas lima anggota grup (RN, RS, RY, MG, dan MV) yang merupakan penyandang, penyintas, dan pihak terkait tuberkulosis. Untuk menjaga kerahasiaan identitas, peneliti menggunakan pseudoname atau nama samaran. Seluruh proses penelitian dilakukan secara daring melalui platform Facebook dengan pengumpulan data berupa pengamatan dan wawancara mendalam yang berlangsung sejak Mei 2024 dan hingga Desember 2024. Namun, guna memperkaya data dan melihat lebih jauh fenomena di dalam grup, peneliti juga menambahkan data terbaru yang relevan untuk mendukung analisis mengenai sense of belonging dalam komunitas Pejuang TBC Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sense of belonging dalam komunitas virtual Pejuang TBC Indonesia terbentuk melalui tiga aspek utama: makna sosial, aktivitas, dan manfaat, yang masing-masing berelasi dengan dimensi fit, value involvement, dan inclusion. Makna sosial mencerminkan proses kesesuaian (fit) anggota yang terbentuk melalui kesadaran kolektif, adaptasi, hingga pemenuhan kebutuhan sosial seperti teman, ruang berbagi, dan komunitas. Sementara itu, aktivitas komunitas memperlihatkan bentuk dari value involvement, baik melalui kontribusi aktif berupa aktivitas berbagi melalui unggahan dan komentar, serta secara pasif melalui konsumsi informasi oleh silent users. Sementara itu, manfaat yang dirasakan (afektif, praktis, dan relasional) merefleksikan dimensi inclusion yang ditandai dengan diversitas sosial berupa keberagaman identitas, penerimaan sosial, serta kesetaraan akses terhadap partisipasi dan informasi. Kata kunci: sense of belonging, komunitas virtual, dan tuberkulosis ***** This study aims to describe the phenomenon of sense of belonging in the virtual community of the Facebook group Pejuang TBC Indonesia. The focus of the study is directed at the factors that shape the formation of sense of belonging, as well as how the phenomenon is manifested in activities. The analysis uses the concept of sense of belonging which includes fit, value involvement, and inclusion. This study uses a qualitative approach with a virtual ethnography (netnography) method. Data collection techniques include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants consist of five group members (RN, RS, RY, MG, and MV) who are tuberculosis patients, survivors, and related parties. To maintain confidentiality, the researcher uses pseudonyms or aliases. The entire research process was conducted online via the Facebook platform, with data collection involving observation and in-depth interviews conducted from May 2024 to December 2024. However, to enrich the data and gain further insight into the phenomena within the group, the researcher also added relevant recent data to support the analysis of the sense of belonging within the Pejuang TBC Indonesia community. The results show that the sense of belonging in the virtual community of Pejuang TBC Indonesia is formed through three main aspects: social meaning, activities, and benefits, each of which is related to the dimensions of fit, value involvement, and inclusion. Social meaning reflects the fit process of members formed through collective awareness, adaptation, and fulfillment of social needs such as friends, sharing space, and community. Meanwhile, community activities show a form of value involvement, both through active contributions in the form of sharing activities through uploads and comments, and passively through the consumption of information by silent users. Meanwhile, the perceived benefits (affective, practical, and relational) reflect the inclusion dimension, which is characterized by social diversity in the form of identity diversity, social acceptance, and equal access to participation and information.
