Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan komunikasi interpersonal berbasis experiential learning terhadap peningkatan pemahaman komunikasi dasar pada pengurus Karang Taruna Kelurahan Kedoya Utara. Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah kurangnya pemahaman terhadap prinsip-prinsip komunikasi dasar yang berdampak pada lemahnya koordinasi dan keterlibatan pengurus dalam kegiatan organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest. Sampel terdiri dari 35 orang pengurus yang dipilih dengan teknik sampel jenuh. Pelatihan dirancang menggunakan pendekatan experiential learning, yang menekankan proses belajar melalui pengalaman langsung seperti simulasi, role-play, diskusi, dan umpan balik. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda yang dikembangkan berdasarkan lima indikator pemahaman komunikasi dasar menurut Joseph A. DeVito. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil pretest menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 48,65 yang meningkat menjadi 82,52 pada posttest. Uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05), yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari pelatihan komunikasi interpersonal berbasis experiential learning terhadap peningkatan pemahaman komunikasi dasar pengurus Karang Taruna. Hasil lembar pengamatan juga mendukung temuan ini, dengan menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dan penerapan prinsip komunikasi selama pelatihan berlangsung. Pelatihan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam penguatan kapasitas komunikasi dasar pengurus sebagai bagian dari pemberdayaan organisasi pemuda. The main issue addressed in this study is the lack of understanding of basic communication principles, which impacts the coordination and engagement of members in organizational activities. The research used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The sample consisted of 35 members selected using a saturated sampling technique. The training was designed using an experiential learning approach, emphasizing learning through direct experience such as simulations, role-play, discussions, and feedback. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test developed based on five indicators of basic communication understanding according to Joseph A. DeVito. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The pretest results showed an average score of 48.65, which increased to 82.52 in the posttest. The Wilcoxon test resulted in an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant effect of interpersonal communication training based on experiential learning on improving the members' understanding of basic communication. Observation sheets also supported these findings, showing active participation and the application of communication principles during the training. This training contributes positively to strengthening the basic communication capacity of the members as part of empowering youth organizations.
