Abstract

ABSTRAK Rita Nur Rahayu Jamasi, Konstruksi Makna Menjadi Relawan untuk Anak Marginal (Studi: Guru Relawan di SMA Master, Depok, Jawa Barat). Skripsi. Jakarta : Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, 2025. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna menjadi guru relawan bagi para relawan di SMA Master Depok, serta memaparkan konteks yang membentuk makna tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menggambarkan tindakan yang dilakukan guru relawan terkait dengan makna yang mereka bangun dalam mendampingi anak-anak marginal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari beberapa guru relawan, siswa, serta pihak sekolah sebagai informan pendukung. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Master, Depok, Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menjadi guru relawan memiliki makna khusus bagi para pelakunya, yaitu sebagai bentuk pengabdian, dan pencarian kepuasan batin. Makna ini terbentuk secara subjektif melalui pengalaman pribadi dan interaksi sosial yang intens dengan lingkungan sekitar. Proses pembentukan makna dipengaruhi oleh perubahan pandangan terhadap anak marginal, dukungan lingkungan, serta tantangan yang dihadapi sehari-hari. Guru relawan belajar menyesuaikan diri dengan dinamika sosial dan psikologis siswa, serta mengembangkan sikap mental yang kuat untuk bertahan dalam peran tersebut. Makna yang telah terbentuk mendorong guru relawan untuk terus berkontribusi di sekolah marginal, meskipun menghadapi keterbatasan fasilitas dan tantangan sosial. Thesis. Jakarta: Sociology Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Jakarta, 2025. This study aims to describe the meaning of becoming a volunteer teacher for volunteers at SMA Master Depok, as well as to explain the contexts that shape this meaning. Additionally, the study illustrates the actions taken by volunteer teachers related to the meaning they construct in supporting marginalized children. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study include several volunteer teachers, students, and school staff as supporting informants. The research was conducted at SMA Master, Depok, West Java. The findings show that becoming a volunteer teacher holds a special meaning for the participants, namely as a form of dedication and the pursuit of inner satisfaction. This meaning is subjectively formed through personal experiences and intense social interactions with the surrounding environment. The process of meaning construction is influenced by changes in perspectives toward marginalized children, environmental support, and daily challenges faced. Volunteer teachers learn to adapt to the social and psychological dynamics of the students and develop strong mental attitudes to persist in their roles. The established meaning motivates volunteer teachers to continue contributing to the marginalized school despite facing limited facilities and social challenges. The social actions taken are the result of mature interpretation of meaning, enabling volunteer teachers to remain consistent in carrying out their duties.
