Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi siswa dalam dukungan orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas V sekolah dasar di Kelurahan Jatinegara Kaum. Persepsi siswa dalam dukungan orang tua mencakup bagaimana siswa memahami dan merasakan dukungan emosional, informasional, instrumental, serta penghargaan yang diberikan oleh orang tua. Kepercayaan diri merupakan keyakinan siswa terhadap kemampuan diri dalam menghadapi tantangan dan situasi sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik proporsional random sampling, melibatkan 204 siswa dari delapan sekolah dasar di Kelurahan Jatinegara Kaum. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner tertutup dan dianalisis menggunakan korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki persepsi tinggi hingga sangat tinggi terhadap dukungan yang diberikan orang tua. Demikian pula, tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa berada pada kategori tinggi. Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara persepsi siswa dalam dukungan orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri. Artinya, semakin positif persepsi siswa terhadap dukungan orang tua yang mereka terima, semakin tinggi tingkat kepercayaan diri mereka. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi orang tua tidak hanya memberikan dukungan, tetapi juga memastikan bahwa dukungan tersebut dipahami dan dirasakan secara positif oleh anak dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. ***** ABSTRACT This study aims to explore the relationship between students’ perceptions of parental support and the self-confidence of fifth-grade elementary school students in Jatinegara Kaum. Students' perceptions of parental support refer to how children understand and feel the emotional, informational, instrumental, and appreciative support provided by their parents. Self-confidence, in this context, is defined as the students’ belief in their own abilities to face challenges and navigate social situations. The research employed a quantitative correlational method with proportional random sampling, involving 204 students from eight elementary schools in Jatinegara Kaum. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation tests. The findings revealed that most students have a high to very high perception of the support they receive from their parents. Similarly, the students' self-confidence levels were found to be in the high category. The correlation test showed a positive and significant relationship between students’ perceptions of parental support and their self-confidence. In other words, the more positively students perceive the support they receive from their parents, the higher their level of self-confidence. These results highlight the importance for parents not only to provide support but also to ensure that this support is clearly understood and positively felt by their children in their daily lives.
